General thoughts on Artisan Cutlery, as far as value goes? Seems to be an inexpensive knife (non-Ti versions), but not sure if the quality also reflects that. I like the Apache, just not crazy about the weird glass-breaker 'protuberance' on the end ... looks out of place. (side-note, the Falcon is around 20-dollars cheaper on SMKW, so this drop is far from a good deal)

perlhkrAs I told RRFluffy, the difference is actually about $7.00 when you throw in SMKW shipping and insurance costs. SMKW is only offering one model as far as colors (silver/CF). Also there would be no wait with SMKW.

BoxBladeYeah, true ... unless you are spending enough to qualify for free shipping, the savings is less. The Ti models are available at a decent price as well ... I may see if I like the non-Ti Apache first , then "upgrade" (granted, the Ti version is a framelock, and it's different materials, so it's not entirely a 1-1 comparison, but still)

perlhkrSounds like a good plan. I haven't handle an Artisan yet, but they are compelling in that they offer different levels of materials and even size on their models. They seem to covering all the bases.

perlhkrI recently received the Tradition which was a drop here not too long ago. My first knife from Artisan Cutlery.
Overall, a very nice knife for the money. Cost was $45 even though it is a bigger knife. Action is very smooth, blade sharp and everything sits where it should. Not crazy about the lanyard hole but feels good in hand. A bit heavy but it is a big knife with a nearly 4” blade. Very pleased.
