Machined from 110 solid copper bar stock in Phoenix, Arizona, this ATELEIA pen is a study in precision and simplicity. The slim, streamlined body offers a pleasant in-hand feel and a weightiness that’s so well balanced, it creates the sensation that the pen is doing much of the writing for you. Unscrew the cap and you’ll find an exposed thread, which adds a bit of industrial flair and can be loosened using the included wrench to access the cartridge inside. This pen is built to go wherever you do, and help you tell your story along the way.
Note: At checkout, choose the 0.5mm Pentel EnerGel or the 0.4mm Pilot Hi-Tec. The two versions differ only in their inserts, which determine the types of refills they accept (see list below). Or, upgrade to the pen with both inserts (+ $15), which you can switch in and out for compatibility with all the listed refills. You can also add a leather pen sleeve in chestnut, medium brown, natural or tan (+ $25).
A craftsman at heart, ATELEIA creator Chris Williams has been—at different times in his life—a musician, woodworker, guitar maker, bicycle repairmen, metalworker, leatherworker, and designer. So it should come as no surprise that, when he couldn’t find an everyday notebook he loved, he made his own. Once his journal design was completed, Chris set out to make a pen that would complement its leather cover and brass hardware. He worked with a local machine shop to create the prototype, and a few years later, made the finished product available to enthusiasts everywhere.
Cut and sewn by hand, these sleeves are a tailored fit for the ATELEIA copper pens. Each one is made of vegetable-tanned full-grain leather, sewn with a saddle stitch, and edge-burnished for a clean, professional look.
