E88CC Philips/Miniwatt Code Δ2A3: First tube I bought for the Aune. Awesome little tube. The bass is quite intense but the highs are a little bit missing. It's still a great tube nonetheless.
E88CC Siemens Code A64G: This tube has a german Bundeswehr logo on the tube. This is my favorite tube so far. Rich bass just like the Philips but with the addition of more mids and highs. I was surprised how much impact the tube really had on the sound. If you can get one of these I'm sure you woint be disappointed.
ECC85 Siemens Code ‡7E: Do not try them in your Aune T1. Using ECC85 is a little bit of a gamble because they have other characteristics than ECC88/E88CC tubes. The sound is completely distorted with this tube. It just could be that the units I got are faulty but I have 3 of them. Not sure if all of them are faulty. Fortunately I didn't pay that much for them.
ECC85 Siemens & Halske Code Δ9G4: Somehow this tube is not distorted at all. It sounds almost as good as the E88CC Siemens but with a little bit less bass. This tube I got looks brand new. Maybe it will settle over time. But stick to the E88CC if you can.

But beware of the last offer. They didn't give any information on the condition of the tubes. As you can see the tubes can be quite expensive. I got two of them for about 30€ because they were quite heavily used before. My tubes have about 8mA with 15mA being a new tube. By the way, if you can get your hands on a Siemens CCa or E188CC tube for little money then get them. They can get to ridiculous prices on eBay. I'm looking for one that doesn't cost a fortune. They are supposed to be really good. Matched pairs aren't really important for the Aune T1 because it only uses one tube anyway.

...I don't know how their price compares to the E-Bay links, but I don't really want to check now. ;-) However, these guys do check the tubes and rate them (get the "platinum" quality for a few extra dollars because the tube is not for the amplification, but the pre-amp/DAC).
I bought (through Massdop) both the Aune T1 and the Sennheiser HD650's. Using the included tube, I was pretty underwhelmed. It felt like every note was at the edge of the range where the instrument/voice was capable of, and bass was like throwing a dart at a tone and playing it, rather than playing an instrument that creates deep notes. With the Siemens tube, my only complaints are about listening on headphones to music with left/right balance/imaging engineered for speakers -- I might look into a software solution, but tubes won't help.
and did you notice a great deal in change (considering the cost difference) with the siemens vs the electro harmonix?
