1) I missed the X1s drop on Black Friday 11/24/2017 for $179.99. Do you guys remember if it was the same 10th Anniversary edition rated 200 mW at 300 ohms? Or the 5th Generation rated 80 mW at 300 ohms?
2) The power supply connector looks interesting, proprietary I imagine. Z Review mentions it in his video [02:13 to 02:33 link below]. I quote “Proprietary power supply. It’s a plus and minus push-pull 12 Volt. Beneficial to audio since it gives a positive and negative value” Hmm, don’t all DC power supplies (both switching and linear) give a positive and negative value?
3) The 5th Generation weighs 2 KG (refer box label). I imagine this is mainly the power supply. I don’t think it is a linear power supply; Aune would’ve clearly mentioned it (as a selling point). Any confirmation on this?

kokkatTo my knowledge this is the first time massdrop is doing the 6th gen, hence why I’m in.
While I do not believe this PSU to be a true linear one, it’s obviously more thought out than your traditional 5v brick. 4 prongs means 2 positives, 2 negatives. Sharing the ground for audio purposes is generally seen as bad as clean signal is more important than efficiency.
I have no reason to believe this is a “true” linear power supply, which is probably why they don’t market it as such - but by having a 4 prong its definitely better.

kokkat1: I saw the aune x1s on black friday. It was 170 or 180 usd, I don't remember the exact price. What I do remember if you read one of my older comments on this thread is that the 5th generation rated 80 mw at 300 ohms on massdrop. When it use to be rated 200 mw at 300 ohms on their website. Thus why decided not to buy it even tho it was cheaper than the original massdrop price of 200 usd.
The 6th generation (anniversary edition) is listed as 200 mw at 300 ohms. Nice to see that. Yes this is the first time they have this. Nice to see they fixed the price, the aune x7s is now 200 usd what it advertised unlike before and you can now save $20 for getting both.

I think they typically have a positive and a neutral, whereas this presumably has positive, neutral and negative rails.
