Big, bold, chunky
This watch certainly isn’t for everyone, but if you like big, heavy, chunky watches, and you have at least a 7” wrist, then this is a great piece. Built like a tank. The case conforms nicely to your wrist. This could be a great “apocalypse” watch. It’s touted as a dive watch, with 300m water resistance, but with no actual minute markers on the bezel, it’s really a dive “style” watch. Still, it makes a great conversation piece. Unique in style and execution, it’s a not really an “everyday” piece, but a nice addition if you are a collector.

WOW - excitement
Received this today. Limited Edition. Came with a nice leather case and soft punch plus an international warranty card. It is a large watch but is impressive to say the least.

wizzardp1I just received the Blackout version of the M48. It is awesome as well. This came in different package (picture posted) and came with a cleaning cloth, strap tool, warranty card and in a hard(er) shell box. The curved fit of both of the M48 is great and feels much more comfortable on my wrist. Limited Edition. Now this makes two AB limited editions. My original AB M48; the leather strap came unglued at the buckle. I reached out to the company with a pic and my warranty card. They will be sending me a replacement band but did tell me to also take the original strap to a shoe shop to have it re-glued. Nice folks. Support has been great!!!

First, this beast is super hefty, way heavier than a Rolex Sea Dweller. However, it sits comfortably on my 6.5' wrist thanks for the curvature of the case back and it doesn't feel any bigger than a G-shock. As I am super OCD, yet the built quality fulfills most of my check list except for the bezel which I will talk about. The domed sapphire with AR coating looks crystal clear even from an angle and really adds a premium aesthetic to the watch. The DLC coating looks thick & solid on the case but probably thinner on the bezel which shows a slightly shinier tone than the rest of the watch. The leather strap is thick & tender and perhaps too soft for my taste but that is just personal preference (however, I do wish it came with a NATO or rubber one which would be more daily practical) The craftsmanship of the strap is comparable to high coutures (afterall it's from Italy). The hands and indices are actually in grey rather than white which you might not be able to pick that up from the product description photos (at least I didn't). That being said, overall it actually provides a more stealthy appearance which I think is a nice touch of the design. The crown feels solid without any wobble and winds buttery smoother than my old 2824 and certainly miles ahead of my other Russian /Chinese /Japanese collections. The second hand glides smoothly without skipping a single beat which happens a lot in some inferior Chinese movements. In terms of accuracy, mine seems gaining fast quite a bit but I guess that's too early to comment before the movement breaks in. The date window jumps sharply within 15 to 20 minutes interval that I am very impressed and did not expect such good quality from a Chinese movement. My only disappointment is the movement of the bezel. The 120 clicks does not feel that refine plus you can rotate it backwards after it clicks, at about 2 to 3 degree interval. So, I wouldn't recommend using this bezel for diving purposes. Nonetheless, I set mine as an indicator of a second time zone so no big deal. All in all, I think the M48 is a no brainer at this price point and would easily recommend to any watch enthusiast.

Hewitt29I have three M-48's and one more on the way. I have had NO problems with the bezel adjustment, they all align perfectly. Must have had a defective bezel. I have OCD myself, that's why I sold all my Seiko's and Invicta's...

Tough, heavy and 100% Italian
Only for those who already know this Italian microbrand. Me, I am fully supporting their way of designing and producing timepieces.

Feels more expensive than it was.
Excellent build quality. The glass is very clear but often reflects a transparent navy blue. The leather seems high quality. The weight is substantial. I really love the way it looks. My complaints are the bezel turns way too easily. If I start the day centered at 12 it is no longer centered by lunch. Also, the bezel can move a small degree without 'clicking', perhaps 1/2 a degree without a click and then it is not centered and my OCD kicks in and I go crazy. The luminosity only works for about 30 minutes which is kinda dissapointing. Finally, the second hand doesn't sweep perfectly smooth, its kinda like a quartz movement but making 1/4 or 1/8 second jumps. For $250 it is a steal. For much more than that I would rather spend more and get more.

Nice watch. My wrists are about 9 inches so it's just about right.

wayne-millerI've about an 8" wrist and it buckles on the 4th last hole but there is still very little of the strap left then to slide under the keepers....if you have a 9" wrist then is there any strap left to put under the keeper loops ?

Unimpressed
At first I really liked the watch. For the $250 I paid, I thought it was a nice looking rugged watch. UNTIL the second hand fell off. The craftsmanship is not worth the $250 I paid. I'm very unhappy...

Very Disappointed
The watch was advertised as having a 300M water resistance and a sapphire crystal. Neither of these were features of the model I received. Will not purchase another product from Drop.

AlexMcQAgreed. My hour hand is about 30 minutes fast, not sure how that happens as I have had a few mechanical watches in my life and never have I seen that issue before. No one from Drop has contacted me and I got one reply from Baldieri when I emailed them about my issue and nothing since. Pretty disappointed overall, though it certainly is a very cool watch design. Shame.

Hour hand indexing is off?
So I received this watch 2 days ago. First, it's a visually stunning watch and at the Drop price point well worth the investment. My issue is that the hour hand on my watch seems to be off on the indexing. The hour hand is about 30 minutes fast? I uploaded a picture for reference and took the picture with the hour hand at the 10 o'clock position and the minute hand at the 13 minute mark. If you compare it to the stock photo on Drop, you can immediately notice the difference in hour hand indexing as the stock photo has the clock hands indexed at around 10:12. Weird. I've given it a couple days of wearing to see if it would self-index to the correct position but it's holding steady so guess I will need to contact Baldieri.

CH53DriverA little disappointed that no one at Drop has replied to my post about this issue and/or attempted to contact me? I'm pretty disappointed in the direction this business/site has gone over the past year or so. I emailed Baldieri about the issue when I first got the watch and told them about the issue, I got a response asking for a short video which I sent them promptly and haven't heard from them since. This was a week and a half ago, so I guess buyer beware with Drop purchases!
