Hello everyone! This product mentions Wi-Fi and has a button for it. Does anyone know what it does? A dash cam which uploads to the cloud would be excellent!

asifabrarIt won't sync to the cloud but will allow you to view recorded footage and download said footage to your phone without having to take the microSD card out of the camera.

$10 less new from sellers on EBay. Low bitrate and video quality for the price. Hard pass.

robert_dykesYou're thinking about the version with the 720p rear. This is the 1080p rear version. So, it's really only $10 off.

So, $10 less than Amazon and won't ship for 3+ weeks? Was expecting this drop to cost less...

tmanXXactually it's only 2$ cheaper since you have have to pay for shipping, so you are saving $2 to wait 3+ weeks instead of just getting it within 2 days, such great deal, LOL...

Well bought this as a gift for the in-laws for Christmas and tried to install the camera today. Power is working, confirmed that. The white LED light on the front is blinking along with the set of status lights on the back. The voice announcing the recording is starting as per the manual, doesn't happen. Guess I'll start the warranty process with Cammsys. Knew I should have stuck with the Blackvue cameras....

Not aware of any physical reset button or "hold this button down for x seconds" to reset - nothing in the manual. No way of disconnecting the super capacitor (well never say never, though it would void the warranty assuming it exists). Tried without the memory card in it. All the same result.
Seven days since I emailed Cammsys, no reply. Did send something to massdrop to see if they can help out, did hear back from them two days ago that my issue has been sent to a different team to handle this..... and did see an email from them after all (accidentally deleted it), sending it back for a full refund

Tanner74Tanner...I've done what you did. Not open or use electronics for 90 plus days. Of course we're not going to get an exchange. Actually, currently an unused VR system. Dick

Hi to everyone. Does this cam has a built in battery? How does it record if the engine is turn off?

PS, these camera don't use that much power in the scheme of things, and pretty much all modern cars also use a small but constant amount of power themselves anyway to keep the clock running, retain the "Learned memory" in the Engine computer, remember your radio settings, and for the factory alarm to monitor the vehicle for break-in attempts. So unless you leave the car sitting for a week or several at a time and do so frequently you wont have issues. Camera is rated to use ~380mA at 13.4v which is 5.1watts, which is just a tad more than USB 3.0 which is good for 4.5w per specification. For comparision modern smart phones charge at 2A @ 5v or more which is more than double what the camera uses.
