Can you give us some more info on the buttero leather? Is it a full grain? Weight?

Shazb0tYes the leather is full grain! Also, it is veg-tanned, which means it was dyed without the harsh chemicals that are typically used for dying leather. Also, the leather comes from the shoulder areas of the cow so it has a rich texture with authentic and aesthetic creases. The nature of veg-tanned and naturally textured leather is that no two wallets are exactly alike and have beautifully unique character. The billfold wallet weighs 2 oz, the slimfold wallet is 1.5 oz, and the weekender card case is 1 oz. The interiors of these wallets are lined with a buttery soft calfskin leather.

I like the look of the wallet, and it seems well made. However, I am disappointed that the "commuter pocket" on the outside of the wallet doesn't allow a smart card to be picked up while it stays in the pocket. I specifically asked about this, and was under the impression that I wouldn't need to remove the card from the outside pocket for it to work, but that isn't the case. While, I'm going to keep using it, I'm a little worried about wear and tear on the card and the wallet from removing it and putting it back in, four times a day.
It's a great wallet, but I wanted to make a comment so that anyone considering the same factor I was would know the right answer in the next drop.

It is RFID protected. The advertising when I joined the drop said that it had an external pocket that wasn't protected so that you could use mass transit cards without taking them out. As it is, it's more convenient to have the pocket outside, but you still have to take out the card. This adds wear and tear to the wallet and the card, and you need two hands free. I still use the wallet and it's holding up pretty well (some of the internal stitching has failed after 2+ years of use), but it wasn't quite what they promised me.

Does the RFID protection extend to the ID window slot? Many state issued IDs now contain MiFARE etc chips.

sureshotThe actual ID window is not RFID protected. However; whatever you keep in that pocket will be protected when the wallet is closed, since the billfold area is completely lined with alloy blockers.

BOCONII was referring to the card holder, not the folder wallet actually. Thanks! I assume that the ID window is not protected on the card holder based on your information.

On the Billfold, is there a pocket outside of the RFID protection? I'm wondering if this will support using a metro card without taking it out of the wallet first.

Mine arrived and it's everything I hoped for. The leather is supple and it's stretched to hold all my cards and cash quite nicely. It's a huge upgrade to the cheap pleather front pocket wallet I've been using!

Arrived in the mail today! Unfortunately, it seems that the ID window of the Weekender is somehow RFID protected? The metro can't seem to detect my transport card :/

Recieved mine today. Very happy with my purchase. Leather quality and finishing is top notch.
I have been using saddleback bifold for the last 2 years. Though it had gained good patina, it also developed pimple like rough surface.
This looks a lot more refined compared to saddleback especially on the edges where it's neatly finished.
