While this is a solid EDC it has one major flaw. It tends to show spots of surface rust at the first hint of moisture. I was working on a home improvement projects and sweating at home and after only a hour in my pocket it had several rust marks on the VG-10 blade. The marks wiped off with a little WD-40 but still... I wonder if they were allowed to stay on the blade a bit longer, would still have been the case?

jminer3Then I would recommend keeping a light coat of dry lubricant on the blade.

jminer3As VG-10 is often used in high end kitchen knives are you sure that is the steel in yours? The only reason I ask, it seems counter-intuitive to use an easily tarnished steel for those tasks. I also read in many places that one of its strong points was corrosion resistance.

NoseyIt is labeled VG-10 but without a lab test there is no real way to be sure, I guess. I have 30 or 40 knives with this steel and this in the only knife I have had issues with.
