Made of calf leather with a water-resistant coating, the BOLDR Slim Wallet 2.0 is tougher than ever and every bit as slim. Its three slots can hold nine or more cards, plus cash, without bulking up your pocket or weighing you down Read More
In my opinion, this wallet isn't really worth getting right now, maybe 3.0 will be better but at the moment, there is one glaring dealbreaker. The pull tab doesn't retract, which means you need to push the cards down on the inside strap to make the pull tab go back into normal position. Doing that frequently may eventually start peeling the top layer off the card being rubbed by the strap depending on what the card is made out of. Not only that, but you really need to push the cards back deep into the pocket to make the pull tab go all the way back.
Honestly, if you want a wallet this style, go look up Vaultskin Chealsea wallet on Amazon. I was hoping to replace mine because it was wearing out and I didn't want to buy the same wallet twice, but I'll probably end up doing that because this wallet was pretty disappointing.
Just received my wallet 2.0 today and it occurs to me that the pull tab should have a cut-out behind it such that it sits flush with the layer behind it. That would also make it easier to pull things from the central pocket. Otherwise positive first impressions.
I received the BOLDR Slim Wallet 2.0 (this wallet) a while back and can report that it did not win me over in the slightest. First off - I think this is a nice looking wallet, it feels good too, but the drawbacks for me outweigh that quickly: The main compartment, which is on the backside of the wallet with the "pull tab" feature (if you can call it that) is not efficient and feels clumsy. In order for the items inside to "pop out" when you pull the tab the items need to be tucked way into the pocket. Instead of being a convenient way to get at my most used card and cash, it becomes an annoying *thing* between me and my stuff, and it felt like the wallet would be better off without it. Just putting cards back into that compartment, tucking them into the pocket so the tab recedes back into its pocket was inelegant and clumsy - half the time I had to use my fingers to "fix" it and then put my card and cash back in. I couldn't fit too many cards either without it cramping up, at that point pulling out cards became spilling out cards, so I opted to carry only 3 of my cards... After two days of use I could see smudges all over, so I went over it with a baby wipe but after another day of use it's noticeable again.
All in all i used the BOLDR for 2-3 days, which isn't a whole lot - but I just didn't have a good time with this wallet at all. Here are some pictures, with the last one being a comparison between this wallet and the BOGUI from KeySmart.
I love the feel of the wallet, it really does feel great to fidget with, and I think it looks very nice, but it's just not for me. Thank you for the reply though, I'll keep an eye open for 3.0 if that ever comes, as I do love wallets.
Just saw the RFID blocking feature. That's a real shame, since tapping cards without removing them from the case would have been my primary use case for this. Guess I'll have to pass on an otherwise really nice card holder.
Images are not very descriptive. Does anyone have a picture on how does it look with bank notes + cards? Also is it big enough for 50 EUR notes?
Thanks
