From Jonas Heineman, Blades Community: "This is not the generic EDC folder you've been looking for. Jason Brous makes overbuilt, aggressive midtech blades that he meticulously (some would say obsessively) assembles, finishes, grinds, and inspects by hand before they leave the shop. Ever wonder what a Kershaw Leek would look like if it was injected with steroids, bathed in HGH, and then exposed to radiation? Probably like this. Shaped to excel at piercing and slicing, with a second edge grind near the grip for tougher cuts, this blade looks like a tactical weapon—but it's perfect for common tasks, too. The two-toned layered G-10 handle is ergonomically shaped and milled out for weight reduction. Combined with a slender blade, the whole knife is very lightweight for its size."
Characterized by its reptilian look, the Brous Blades Hardwire Midtech Folder is slender and comfy in the hand. Textured G-10 scales in black and blue make up the handle, which is angled to the contours of the hand. The 4.25-inch blade is made from D2 tool steel: designer Jason Brous’s material of choice. It offers good edge retention and corrosion resistance. For deployment, press on the flipper tab and the blade opens with authority, locking in place with the stainless steel liners. Overall the knife measures nearly 10 inches, but it’s extremely lightweight despite its stature. Carry it in the pocket with the stainless steel tip-up clip.

After spending his early life learning the ins and outs of CNC machining from his father, Jason Brous began a career designing high-performance knives. Inspired by biomechanical art—a surrealist style of art that combines robotics, ergonomics, and the organic qualities of nature—Brous Blades are built on a process of continual improvement and determination to craft nothing but the best cutlery on the market.
