NeriNo. It is a GPS receiver, not a transmitter. And it doesn't display your coordinates. It just shows you how far and which direction you are from any of three locations that you have marked with the device (by having already been there and storing the location.)

NeriNo. You would need a Personal Locater Beacon (PLB) for that. Something like a SPOT or Delorme InReach.

anon9Just for clarity sake, the SPOT and PLBs are a bit different. A PLB broadcasts a signal at 406 MhZ that is an internationally recognized distress signal which can be picked up by emergency personnel. The PLB is registered with NOAA so they can individually identify who the signal belongs to, and there is no subscription cost and no way to allow others to track your location. A SPOT uses satellite signals to provide location updates to whoever wants to track you and is a commercial product that requires a subscription.
TLDR: a PLB is purely a distress signal. A SPOT allows location tracking.
