This is the classic case of getting what you pay for. Used devise several times in situations where I was looking for basic info (miles travelled). Absolutely would not use this in situations where my safety depended on clear and concise feedback. Wasn't looking for all the qualities of a $300 GPS when purchasing this devise, but, even at $20, this was not a worthwhile purchase.
Can this display coordinates? I've been searching for a while for something along these lines that's simple, has a good battery, and can read out coordinates.
This thing is so junky. Remember playing with those tamagotchi pet toys in the 90s? Awful display with limited functionality? Yea this GPS toy will take you back.
I hike and backpack in the desert environments quite a bit and this is just another layer of protection. In those environments it takes about a minute to bring up the nav points and gives an 'as the crow flies' direction.
I'm guessing the GPS receiver Is weak as it does take awhile to work in the city, under heavy tree cover. But for backcountry, off-trail hikes, where getting lost is more than just inconvenient, it weighs nothing and works fine.
Also: Why is it cheaper to ship 2 separately than 2 together?
I haven't been able to get a signal anywhere. It just flashes at one bar. Is reception really this ridiculously awful in the suburbs? No signal at all unless I'm in the middle of butt-fucking nowhere?
foulmouthedruffianI don't seem to have that problem in my city. Although I oticed that the saved location was somewhat off upon following the 'trail' back. But thaat last point might on me, tomorrow I'll go ta park and calibrate this thing properly.
badlucktvSeriously, I was sort of considering an impulse buy, but no way am I going back to a 10 year old standard. Currently have to support micro-usb and typically usb-c and lightning as well.
