This is an amazing lens, and is super sharp, has great focusing speed, and the images through it are just awesome. This is the lens I miss most since switching away from Canon to Fuji. It is very heavy indeed, and works much better with a larger body: best fit for a full frame body, and on a smaller APS-C it will feel quite unbalanced. The resale value for this lens is very high, so getting on Massdrop at a great price, using for a while and selling it later for not much less (just do it when there are no Canon rebates on :) works out to a very cheap rental.
