I was in the marked for the D5 Mark IV because the other full sensor Canon camera (D6) did not quite cut it. However, Canon JUST came out w/the D6 Mark II, which is getting fairly close to the D5 Mark IV for about a grand less. I figure I get the D6 Mark II, learn how to utilize it effectively and by the time I got this mastered, the D5 Mark V will have come out and I upgrade then. Otherwise, the D5 Mark IV is a great deal especially for this price (although I don't trust Massdrop on their electronics (I have had too many problems buying electronics from MD) and would spend the extra $200 and buy from B&H instead.
