EDIT: Massdrop has resolved this, at least in my opinion. They will give you a receipt from the authorized dealer if and when you require warranty service, and if anything goes wrong they will reimburse you for any repairs. You can see the post below for Duncan from Massdrop's response to my questions. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/nikon-d850-dslr-camera/talk/2017025?utm_source=linkshare&referer=T3XNMA
You will not be getting a Canon 1-year warranty on this, like Massdrop is advertising. Look at this post below to see someone having to pay Canon out of pocket because of the lack of warranty. Massdrop has not responded to them regarding this issue. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/canon-ef-100-400mm-f-4-5-5-6l-is-ii-usm-lens/talk/1977363?utm_source=linkshare&referer=T3XNMA If you'd like, you can read more about the so-called warranty and why it isn't valid in these threads below. https://www.massdrop.com/buy/sigma-150-600mm-5-6-3-contemporary-dg-os-hsm-lens/talk/1930521?utm_source=linkshare&referer=T3XNMA https://www.massdrop.com/buy/nikon-50mm-f-1-8g-af-s-nikkor-fx-lens/talk/1909148?utm_source=linkshare&referer=T3XNMA

fmunozThe evidence speaks for itself. Unless you think the deal is still a decent price even without the warranty, you should back out.

fmunozThere is alot of conjecture on the topic but Massdrop as a company always stands behind what we offer.

JaysunConjecture? Click on the first link I pasted. Someone had to send their lens in for warranty and their warranty was not honored. This is not conjecture. They have also not received a response yet from Massdrop. That is not standing behind what you offer.
What information can you offer to prove me wrong? Thanks in advance for your answer.

JaysunSorry @Jaysun, but that sounds like a non answer, I have been always happy with the drops I've participated, but this is a major investment, can you directly verify that I will receive a receipt from a Canon authorized dealer?

fmunozYou definitely will not receive a receipt from an authorized dealer. Just the Massdrop receipt, which isn't valid. The dealer may register your lens for you, but as the poster in the thread I linked saw, registration does not mean you have a valid warranty.
As for @Jaysun's non-answer, don't expect much else. He selectively replies to what he wants to, and ignores the rest. You'll notice that he did not respond to one claim myself or anyone else has made, and dismissed it all as conjecture. LOL. He just dislikes me because I make his job harder by telling his potential customers the truth. I will continue to make these posts to warn other customers. Hopefully no one sues them for this fraudulent behavior and false advertising, but that's not my issue.

jeremy205100thanks @jeremy205100 , I was on the fence between this camera and a 6D now that they have come down in price, I am now leaning in that direction, I'm hoping to get a clear answer as the warranty is important to me and I was convinced already to go in this direction.

fmunozYou are welcome. Although I think Massdrop's behavior with these USA warranty photography drops is shady, and potentially fraudulent, I will note that Massdrop does send new products and I do believe they are getting these from a US dealer. You just will not get the warranty. The warranty on a camera body is nice, but less valuable than on a lens. You should be able to tell if something is wrong with the body immediately upon receiving it. A lens, on the other hand, might have a motor or image stabilizer fail years down the road.
I shoot Nikon, and I'm not in the business of telling other people what to do with their money, but if you like the price of this drop then it might still be worth considering.

jeremy205100yeah, but then I can get an International one from Amazon for 834 and it would deliver tomorrow, so if I was going for price only, this doesn't make sense.

fmunozThat's true. I'm not a Canon shooter so I'm not really familiar with what their cameras are going for exactly in the market right now. I have a very rough idea, but that's it. My advice would be to decide which of the two cameras you want, and then look around for the best price.

JaysunYou don't decide if they get a Canon warranty, Canon does. And Canon has strict requirements for it which this drop does not meet. Please continue to ignore my comments and lie to your customers though, it shows a lot about your character and Massdrop's values as a company.

fmunozHe did not confirm it will come with an authorized dealer receipt. Past USA warranty drops have not, and this one is almost certainly no different. If he does confirm this though, you would then have a valid warranty.

JaysunIf you are to get an authorized Canon repair, you are going to need an Authorized Canon Dealer receipt. That's the ONLY way Canon will provide a warranty repair. I think it is misleading to "offer" a 1 yr Canon Warranty without the dealer receipt. MassDrop isn't offering anything valid without the receipt. I've been waiting 5 days now for my valid dealer receipt... if they were that "available" it should be here by now.

JaysunJaysun,
I have not received a response regarding my question of what Massdrop has done for the poster that had an issue with his Canon warranty, and what Massdrop will do in future drops to prevent such issues. Please let me know.
Thanks in advance for your answer.
