NOT HAPPY!! I did not receive what I had ordered. I ordered two Double Layer" belts, which I paid extra for, and both the belts that I received are "Single Layer". And, on top of that, I ordered a "Coyote Brown" but I received a "Gray" belt. I checked the shipping slip inside the package and apparently the order I received is for another customer in Stockon California. How did that happen MASSDROP?? The shipping label on the outside of the package is correctly labeled for me. So apparently you sent me someone elses contents in my shipping package. Now what? God job MASSDROP / :

Nothing better to do I think :D. I'm very sorry to hear about your difficulties but maybe you haven't considered that the person packing the belts may have had something on his/her mind at the time (sick child, unpaid bills,...) and messed up a few parcels ? We're all humans and prone to mistake. A little courtesy goes a long way and I find your initial post a bit harsh to say the least. At the end of the day, it's just a couple of belts....

@CarbonTactics_Mike Thank you for making things right so quickly and with such a genuinely apologetic and very kind personal touch. +10 for your company's reputation in my book! What's more, the belt and buckle are top notch--thank you!

Here’s another vote for getting rid of the writing on the front of the buckle. I don’t need to advertise for Carbon Tactics and I don’t need to proclaim the material. I mean, it’s not like the strap has “Nylon” printed all over it.
I like the design quite a bit - but I’ll pass due to the above.

billcI fully agree - the last thing I want on my clothing is the manufacturer's logo, or for that matter, the material. When they start providing discounts for the free advertising, I'll reconsider my position.

Mister5f1modsAmen! I have never found a reason to advertise for free. Sadly, the people who put logos on their products have never found a reason to pay me. Maybe I should have been famous.

I've worn mine about a month or so. It works fine, but does have it's quirks.
First off, I find that the buckle does slide loose a bit over time. Now and then I'll notice my pants dropping a bit. It's because the nylon has slid through the buckle a little instead of staying exactly where it needs to be set. I've had to readjust it while on my waist on numerous occasions to get a tight fit again, more than I would like to.
Compared to a leather belt, it feels stiff, and a little cold. Leather is supple and conforms to the curves of your waist. This belt is made of a stiff, fairly thick nylon, so you feel the areas that press unevenly on your waist much more. So it's not nearly as comfortable as leather.
Leather also keeps you warmer. You never think about this when you wear a leather belt day in and day out, but once I switched to the nylon, I could feel that it wasn't as insulating as the leather, and my waist actually felt a little cold and, frankly, a bit naked.
I found that I had to cut the length so that cut (buckle) side ends just before it reaches the first belt loop. That's because in order to separate the two sides, you have to lift buckle/hook end and lower the loop/tube end. If the belt is so long that the cut (buckle) end goes past the first belt loop on the other side, the belt loop inhibits buckle/hook end of the belt from being lifted up, as it's essentially trapped by the belt loop. Makes separating the halves much harder.
Also, one concern I have is with the longevity of the nylon securing tube/loop for the hook.
It seems that the little sharp tip on the metal hook scrubs pretty vigorously against the inside of the nylon securing tube every time you close or open the belt. It seems like some pretty hard abrasion, and that's the pointy metal tip forcefully raking against the inside of the nylon tube.
I wonder how long it will go before the nylon frays.
I use this belt as a regular pants belt only, and I think the main attributes of this belt for that application is the water-proofness, as well as having less maintenance requirements vs leather. But it does have its quirks.
After having one, I would probably pass on getting another one unless it was at a really irresistible price.
Just my honest opinion.

K.T.NI too am a Kickstarter backer of this and agree to all the points made. I will also add because of the loop design on the end of the belt that is fed through your pant loops, if your pant loops are on the small side, you might spend some time struggling to feed it through.

Okay, I give up. How wide in inches is "Threads through standard belt loops"?
grubbsterThe strap is 1.5" wide and about 1/16" thick for the single-layer strap. The double-layer strap is then ~1/8" thick. Let me know if you have any other questions!

1.5 will work with casual pants, if by casual pants you mean jeans, cargo pants, dickie, or anything else like that. I have been able to fit my 1.75 work belt in all of my casual pants.

“Tactical Nylon”? Seriously, hasn’t the word “tactical” been used to death?
I’m curious, what makes this nylon tactical?

mckeand13Extra lethal buddy
mckeand13It's very rigid compared to most webbing, which is important if it's going to safely support a load such as a firearm. This type of webbing is also known as "scuba webbing". Let me know if you have any other questions ;)

So I have picked out the strap colors, biothane black and wolf grey nylon, any suggestions for an anodized color that would look good with these? I'm thinking natural titanium might look best but I'm digging some of the colors like maybe sky blue or gradient. Wish there were pics of the anodized buckles actually on straps!
Massdrop has great studio lighting, and I took that photo offhand with an iPhone :) With anodized titanium, I think you have to see it in real life to appreciate the color, because it depends a lot on the lighting and even the angle of view sometimes. A good article about how anodizing works on titanium, in case you're interested : http://mrtitanium.com/interference.html Let me know if you have any other questions!

I been wearing mine almost daily for a few months, and so far I enjoy it and see no signs of wear in the nylon loop (seems some folks were concerned about this). I have the single layer in wolf grey with a titanium buckel and I am impressed by how stylish it looks, even for a “tactical” belt. I haven’t found mine to slip loose. It is a friction belt so it does settle slightly after putting it on but it is not noticeable and it has no problem keeping my drawers up all day.
The design is unique and I’m sure if more people were looking down there it would be a conversation starter. Excellent American craftsmenship.

Got mine on a Friday. Adjusted it and tested it out for an hour just wearing it around the house the next day. Turned out to be too tight with my EDC items. Adjusted it again and found that the point of prior setting is already fraying the nylon on the top and bottom of the belt at the exact spot where it was retaining before I re-adjusted. Very slight, but I'm talking hours within the first wear a day after getting it. Seems to me that the buckle itself has a sharp edge on the inner portion that holds the nylon. Maybe that's by design to help keep it in place, but it isn't gentle with the nylon. Kind of makes me lose a little confidence in its longevity.
Other than that, the belt is exactly as advertised and I don't have any issues with retention at all. My advise is to not cut the extra length and just wrap that around to give the belt a little more friction to stay in place. I probably have about 20-24oz of EDC on it and it seems to be doing the job.

I got my Ti Hook Belts about 4 months ago from their Kickstarter campaign. I have a couple of the single layer nylon webbing belts and one BioThane. I have two titanium “buckles.” From an aesthetics standpoint, I think they look classy and unique. I received compliments on the belts on several occasions. I wore the Ti Hook Belts exclusively for about three months. I HATE THEM. The belts do slide. I think the problem is that the buckles are a compromise between the size needed for the single layer and the size needed for dual layer belts rather than having unique buckles for each. I would expect the dual layer belts to not slip (haven't tested this though of course). Multiple times, I was walking through a store with my arms full and all of the sudden the belt gives. I was left awkwardly heading to the checkout line with my pants literally falling down. The last time it happened, I ripped the belt off when I got home and threw it in disgust onto the floor of my closet. The belts haven't moved since. My belts started to slide on the very first day. I immediately regretted the purchase, but since I put so much money into them and I wanted to like them, I decided to keep trying to give them a fair shake. Here's the problem though. With use, the nylon webbing relaxes a little and the slipping gets worse.

TonySWell if you don’t like them that much, and you want to recoup part of your purchase, I would like to buy your Ti buckle. i don’t need the belt, just the buckle.
