Mike- a couple weeks ago, I emailed you to let you know that I received the two replacement springs you sent me (a gold one and a black one) and that I compared the springiness/resistance of those to the original black slider. As I mentioned in that email, the new black spring seems identical to my original black spring. The gold spring is perhaps a little bit stiffer, but either way, I remain afraid that none of those are going to create a knife that is safe enough for me to carry in my front pocket without worrying that an incompatible sitting arrangement will depress the button and cause the blade/slider to shift out of hiding. I didn't get a reply to my email or to a follow-up email I sent a week or so ago, so I assume that there's not a knife/spring arrangement you currently have that will work for me at this time. For anyone looking for a utility knife that's safer, I bought a Quark Tool Carbon and so far, so good. A downside is that it's a two-handed open, but the upside is that I can't envision a situation in which it will ever open accidentally in my pocket (or elsewhere), so it's now my become my fifth-pocket EDC utility knife. As to the first part of your comment, I was merely poking a little harmless fun at his chosen user name. As to the second part, while we both understand what he was attempting to do, can you not see how he inadvertently ended up doing just the opposite?
