I ma not happy with the purchase. My pen arrived fast, however it was covered in stains. Brown stains all over, even on the part, where drawings are. Obviously I contacted massdrop in that matter, but no response so far.
CeasarsI had EXACTLY the same with my pen. Same oxidation in the same places.
Heavy darkening:
- Around the top of the cap (where the pink resin meets the silver)
- Around all joints
- Bottom
Medium darkening
- One side of the clip
- On the barrel
- On the cap
I suspect some sort of water/moisture has oxidized the silver.
My solution was to give it a go with a Cape Cod cloth. Probably spent 30 minutes before mine were OK. The cape cod is quite agressive and nasty on the skin, so wear gloves. It is , however safe for silver. It had no bad effects on the barrel either. It will leave a little black oxide after reacting with the contaminants, so polish it thoroughly with microfiber or cotton cloth. No water! Because of the fine features and embossing it's not the easiest item to clean.
If i had a Shunshine cloth I'd probably use that instead. I also have a Fabulustre cloth, but out of fear of getting the redish rouge into the resin/nooks &crannies I opted for the Cape Cod. I will still give it a go with a Sunshine cloth and a microfiber to make it shine.
Fortunately, there's no indication of water on either boxes, so i think the pen is good. However, with no universal adapter included, I'd have to move one over from my other pens to try it but I haven't had the time yet.
