Product Description
With its machete profile and deep-bellied blade, the Condor Primitive Bush Knife excels at chopping, clearing brush, and even slicing. It’s not a wonder why, either, as it’s designed by acclaimed outdoorsman and survivalist Matt Graham, who boasts more than 20 years’ experience in primitive outdoor techniques Read More

This knife has such a cool story behind it! Matt Graham apparently spends a few months each year living in the wilderness, taking not much at all other than this knife. In fact, his knife started as a Condor Jungle Bowie, but he ground the blade down to this funny shape. Condor then released a new knife matching his reground shape. I find it pretty ironic that we all sit here complaining about the steel, while he's probably using it to build a shelter as we speak. And I'm no different to anyone else here! My friend has this knife, and it's pretty nice to use.

420HC while not a premium steel is more than acceptable with the proper heat treat. The company itself has issues with QC but that is aside from the quality of 420HC steel. I have this knife and the heat treat on mine is good. Holds an edge well and sharpens easily as well.
There is also a carbon steel model with micarta scales.

I became sad to see that it was in 420 steel. I would have bought it if it was in a carbon steel. And I would love to see more Condor products.

I'd like to see other Condor products, but not in their stainless steel material.

SoopahI have their 'Kukri' in 8mm thick 1075 and it's a fucking beast. Very nearly as good as a hatchet for most tasks, but able to do finer work too due to the edge profile at the narrowest part of the blade.

GrantBNo, this looks like the original model with wood handles and 420 HC steel. It's a pretty good price if you want a stainless blade and don't mind the wood. I've got the version with micarta (more contoured and very grippy) and 1075 steel - just need to pay attention to basic blade maintenance (dry & lube after use). Great multipurpose knife, with a cool sheath!

Interesting knife. Here’s a pretty good review:

Not sure whether Condor has updated the handle after this review, but it seems from the description like they haven’t.
$76 on Amazon, $89 on Knifecenter, so the price is decent, too.
