Lightweight and comfortable, the Creative Labs Aurvana headphones offer noise cancelling technology so you can block out your surroundings and hear more details in your favorite tunes. As opposed to standard noise cancelling, these cans have 87-percent active noise cancellation, which actively blocks out sustained external sounds—great when you’re on a plane or in a crowded area Read More
These looks exactly like Bose QC15 in formfactor and dimmensions. Seems like they are licensing parts from Bose. Are they?
They would never choose a design like that if that weren't the case (imo), Bose could sue them. If they are similar to QC15, though, they would probably be a good buy.
not a fan of the idea of creating more noise to cancel noise. why does no one take the hearing protection design, give it lets say a 20-25NRR and just add a high quality speaker to the inside part of the headset. Am I missing something or am I the first person to think of something so simple?
I've read that the ANC and Bluetooth connection quality on these are fantastic. But I've also read that the overall sound quality is sub-par compared to other headphones in this price bracket. I've also read that people doubt the long-term build quality, but haven't read any multi-year use reviews. Can anyone comment on either of those points?
SamC_0 I'd take these over any set of Bose noise cancelling headphones. Although I'd probably just grab a set of the regular Aurvana Lives or the E-MU Walnut edition. If you're going for noise cancelling, and you don't want passive Sony's newish line of noise canceling headphones are a way better choice than either these or Bose. That being said I'd rather have some Koss PortaPros over anything with a Bose logo....
I know the Bose have a sensor, but it doesn't have as much function as the Sony does etc. Anyhow glad we can sorta agree, I hope you get a chance to try them out. They are quite good, they can't replace my non NC headphones, but I'm actually thinking about getting them. They would be nice for trips.
RealizerWe did long ago, I said from my first comment (after your suggestions), that Sony seemed to have a very solid product against Bose (which have for long been king of NC).
As I already have QC25, and is investing in an expensive home headphone, I don't think I'll get the Sonys in the near future. If only I had more income, less bills etc...
