I own one of these and its a decent external sound card that doubles as a portable headphone amplifier.
Pros: Bluetooth works really well, the head phone ampliphier will power up to 600ohm cans, multiple inputs allow you to use this with a computer and a gaming system. battery life is really good worked upto 8 hours when I took it to work and still had charge left, app for iPhone lets you control the boost as an equalizer that you can customize to prefrence.
Cons: It is pretty heavy and bulky compared to my old Fiio E6, if you do not use all the features there are less expensive options available, sometimes when you unplug your headphones the dac/amp will not recognize your external speakers and you will have to plug and unplug the headphones to get the external speakers to work (known issue with no fix yet)

amdillowCan you use this thing just as an amp? Is the "line in" an analog line in? Can you plug let's say an iPhone/iPad using a single 3.5mm male/male connector plugged to the headphone out jack of the iphone/iPad on one side to the "line in" of this E5 unit On the other side?

tessierpgOn the back there is a 3.5/optical combo input. There is also a USB input for your computer or laptop on the back. There is a 3.5/optical output on the back that can go to speakers or a stero reciever. There is an input that will except a direct hifi signal from your phones lightining port. The device has a bluetooth pairable input (witeless) for any bluetooth device like your iphone and it sounds amazing clear and acurate and better than any cabled connection to it. The E5 has several built in mics. The two inputs on the front are both headphone inputs so two people can listen at the same time.

tessierpgYeah, you can just use it to Amp a 3.5mm signal in, and then there's two outputs on front too.
