Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

If you don't play games then you would probably be better off with a different dac amp.
In comparison I've been looking at getting the Schiit Magni/Modi stack, but I like the idea of an all-in-one setup for a desk real estate perspective.
I had actually planned to get this back when I first saw it drop, but the reviews on Amazon put me off. I did some casual research and ended up getting the Magni/Modi pairing and I've actually been quite impressed with them. (I've got them paired with AudioTechnica M50x headphones.) The two boxes are quite small (3.5 in x 5 in x 1 in) and stack neatly on top of each other. The construction feels very sturdy/all metal. My only gripe is how bright the front LED indicator lights are.
As for sound, I can't go into specifics (again, limited experience) but basically, you know how your music sounded when you first got a good pair of headphones -- suddenly you had this huge range of new sounds to explore and everything was so much brighter? It's like that all over again. (But I'm sure that's every DAC, not just Schitt.)
It's one of my favorite pairings to be honest in the price band and I've tested a lot of headphones with the X7 (full disclosure I work for Creative).
