Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

I wanted to post my impressions of these monitors as CTM was kind enough to mold a set for me to test before we set up this drop. They've become my go to IEM's mainly due to the fit and clarity.
1. One of the things I watch out for in anything with multiple drivers is phase discrepancies from poor time alignment (each driver has a unique path to your eardrum and ideally they are all the exact same length but this is easier said than done.) The CTM's have shown no signs of obvious phase cancellation and are quite precise.
2. The sound signature is nicely rounded and clear. The top end can show a touch of sibilance even after break in but this is more revealing of flawed material than flaws in the monitors themselves. Brilliantly recorded material sounds brilliant, poorly recorded material is less so. I've even spent some time mixing on these in my studio with good results, though I don't normally mix on headphones.
3. Build quality is excellent. These are quite clearly made for the long haul and I expect they will last quite some time. I'm very pleased with them overall and use them daily. For reference I was previously using Etymotic HF5's, or Final Audio Design FI-BA-SS for my on the go listening.
4. With regards to background hiss from various sources I have driven them with my iPhone, Macbook Air, Grace M920, and a FiiO E18 Kunlun and not heard much if any background hiss from any of them under normal use.
