Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

My version has the balanced 2-pin connector -- a 2.5mm TRRS plug. Because my portable music player is still several weeks out, I haven't been able to listen to these earphones. However I have ordered a 2.5mm TRRS to 3.5mm TRS adapter from Null Audio in Singapore. So it's a waiting game once again.
In the meantime, here are all other "soundless" impressions:
1. Acoustic seal is amazing. After insertion into the ear, just wait 3-5 seconds for the entire auditory world around you to vanish -- without any of that discomfort or pressure sensation you get from compressed foam earplugs.
2. Comfort is excellent. These are my first CIEMs. I own a pair of Shure SE425s and some too-embarrassing-to-be-named IEMs. None of them comes close to the comfort of a custom fitted IEM.
3. The Linum BaX cable is really thin and light, but quite strong and reassuring in the sense that you know it won't disintegrate. It does tend to tangle, so some care is needed when unrolling and re-rolling the cable.
4. The fit is perfect. I took a photo of the CIEM in my ear, and it follows the contours of the ear very well and "locks" into place.
All that is left is to actually hear them...
Color-wise, I was torn between the maple and bloodwood (like mahogany), but chose the maple in order to have a less conspicuous design.
