I own a pair of the straight fit Batch 01 from Doublewood. They are very well made and comfortable. The MIC is a stigma not deserved for DW. They make a good pair of jeans.

TarStarDefinitely agree with you on the MIC stigma not really applying in this case. Doublewood makes seriously quality raw selvage denim.

During WW1. The USA had guidlines for cutting back on materials to support the war effort. Levi's had to take away any stiching that was deemed as decorative and rivets had to be reduced. One of the rivets was at the bottom of the fly because Cowboys complained that while sitting in front of a campfire, the rivet became extremely hot in a sensitive area. Also people complained that it was unattractive. So, no more fly rivet. Caution : fly can get hot!

Why are the inseams always so long? Most people aren't 6'3 and these are washed and tight loom, so there's not much shrinking. Even the 6'3 model rolls up! I like my mexican levis raw, even though they're not selvidge, they shrink as descibed and fit. $40. Levis raw selvidge cone mills USA fit.(50% off) I would love to buy some raw selvidge with a good weight that weren't sized for a giant. Do you have a company out of Japan that offers that in reasonable sizes? I really want to buy from you, but there's always something to deter me from purchase.

These are not being made to order for us (we have events when we do, like with Companion and Sage for example), and the vendor is a small production house so it's not very smart decision inventory-wise to cut different lengths at every waist size to accommodate for length. Better to make the longest length that makes sense for a democratic fit, and have everyone hem/tailor to their own liking.
Shrinkage will be minimal since they're sanforized, so yeah - no problem there ;)

(lol) Joking aside, I do agree crotch rivet is certainly a bold & explicit detail and its probably not for everyone. One could also argue similarly for button fly vs zipper fly and the list goes on. Cheers!

brendan.ashehmm, as far as I know there aren't really any shortcuts here. For a new pair I usually wear them around the house for a little while first, and try to go on some walks and do some stretches in them to loosen them up.

As soon as the group's order is ready at the vendor's location, they will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse in New Jersey where our warehouse team will break it up into individual orders and ship them. The current estimated ship date from our warehouse is 8/12.

so i lost some 15lbs since the last time i bought a pair of pants. I just measured the inside of the belt i wear every day coming up with 32. does that mean i get a 31? thanks.

Leeginn @Leeginn, When you say inside of the belt, I would imagine that's the belt length when lay flat and measure to the buckle hole that you wear? In that case, yea a W31 should be your size. If you like a tight and fit size, I would go as far as a W30 and keep breaking it in until I can button up the top (that's purely a personal take and may sound a lil extreme =) Cheers.
