Having owned several DROP keyboards I have to say that, out of the ALT (high profile), the CTRL (high profile), the Tokyo60, and the Sense 75, the Sense 75 is definitely my favorite. Much of that is due to the POM plate, which in combination with Moondrop Tessence switches and MT3 keycaps, produces a really nice sound signature with no ping and without the need for any other mods at all.
Due to the nature of the bisco gaskets, the gasket performance is quite stiff compared to poron, the inclusion of the pom plate over the stock alu plate adds some much needed flex to the build and overall improves the typing experience, although it's still quite stiff I very much enjoy the unique feel that the POM plate provides to the build
Definitely an improvement from the base plate. However I would heavily recommend getting the black plate as the white plate allows the underglow to bleed through the edges (see pictures).
I normally like aluminum plates but I really liked the POM one I got with one of my other keyboards which made me think that just maybe it might be something I should try with my Sense75.
I really love the matte black of the Pom plate. Once everything is installed you don’t really see the plate much at all anyways but the original blue aluminum plate was beautiful so I am glad the Pom plate has a nice finish.
I wish the gaskets were not preinstalled. If they have to come installed they should be at least even and straight. I had to fix them before putting the keyboard back together. It’s just something that bothers me as I am a little OCD. It might be fine for you.
On a positive note thé POM plate definitely seems to help the sound profile. The aluminum plate is sometimes pingy I find if you are a heavier typer where POM is a little more forgiving in that regard. I currently have Invry Holy Pandas in it lubed and filmed.
Overall I think it was a very nice upgrade for my Sense75.
i've learned a lot about keyboard customization since i got my barebones sense75 in july or so and i wish i knew that changing the plate would have made the keyboard sound SO much better - i was new and just didn't know! so now i'm annoyed that i didn't have the choice of plate to begin with when i was buying the keyboard- it would have prompted me to read up more on what the different materials do. anyway, live and learn, replace the plate.
Never used a POM plate before. Prefer the sound of an FR4 plate tbh, but I wanted as soft a plate as possible with how pingy the stock sense75 barebones is.
