Round two is on!  How can I contain myself here, Drop & Reate have done a beautiful job of translating this knife into a performance production knife. As usual Jonas and Mike as well as the Drop team have thoughtfully worked through this process with me. I hope the care and integrity of this product come through in the pictures…I know it will when it is in hand!  As the next model the Lynx offers a smaller format than the Orca with its own distinct design features. The sweeping belly blade which was inspired by some of my older skinning fixed blade knives is hollow ground with a thin edge for slicing and good cutting dynamics. While the rounded back edge drops down to a nice tip that’s design offers superior strength.  Over the years the Lynx Design has been one of my most requested designs and for various reasons I never made anywhere near enough.  When I started in with Drop we agreed that we would do more than one design so the Lynx seemed I good Second option to the larger Orca that is out.  As the Orca worked out well we wanted to try to keep to the linerlock format. The Lynx design with its clean style offered an option to emphasis the simple sweeping nature of the blade and handle design with the milling on the scales.  As many have observed about my designs, I like flowing lines and tactile textures or shaping. In this case the milling provides good texture for control as well as a visual element. The handle scales are thin making the knife lean and easy to carry. Additionally it fits nicely in the hand and the finger choil allows a comfortable choke up hold too. Our society has those that are sensitive to knives, so the small design of the Lynx and multiple opening options allows for a cautious opening.   As well as fore finger flick, thumb flick and/or flipper tab opening when the coast is clear and fun time is on or time is of the essence.     Drop has been a good fit for me, and I really want to thank all the Drop Members for the warm reception on the Orca. It has been a pleasure to hear and see the enthusiasm and comments. Truly makes the work that goes into the design and planning part of this worth the effort! The Blade community here at Drop has been really supportive, not just with me but with several makers and this has allowed Drop to develop a wonderful line of quality products, in my opinion. At the last Blade show I even had the opportunity to check out all the models and hangout with the other makers, what a great time! Thank you for the support and checking out the Lynx! Regards, Eric    PS: There is a couple more pics and a video in my Instagram feed (ochsworx) if you are interest. Swipe to see video.

EricOchsWill there be any changes from the first run to the second run? Or any additions different from the first drop?
MiekMickFrom what I understand I believe it will be fairly similar to the Pre-Order.

Since this is the first production run, are there going to be serial numbers engraved on the blade somewhere?

I think your custom 'D' pivots are masterfully rendered and so gorgeously applied. It's hard for me to get my head around how much I love what you've done here! Congrats, Jonas!

why dont you just serialize the batch instead? personally i like serial numbers, i just dont care which number i get or if it is out of order. plus this is common in small batch manufacturing so you can track which batch has which issue (although you can easily get this from date of purchase as well, but you lose granularity such as who specifically did the final inspection)

Hey folks, a few people have asked @EricOchs and us for some shots of the Mokuti pivots. My iPhone shots don't do them justice so we gave the pros some time to get it done right. Thanks for asking - here they are, and they've been added to the page as well.

I just received an email that this knife has shipped...through PostNL-International. I’ve never heard of these guys. Where is this knife being shipped from?

I'm in the same boat, but both of my last two knives we're just shipped. One shipped about on time and one shipped way early. When they arrive I too am DONE WITH DROP.

I've complained numerous times myself and I have purchased over 25 knifes alone from mass drop/drop. Done, done, done!

Was almost there but China? Nope well folks since I’m the only one that posted the China issue I’ll leave it up. But thanks for taking the time to inform me and help me from missing this opportunity. https://knifeinformer.com/reate-knives/ not it sure if this link is a shill but it seems genuine. And to add to the reply below.

ryanburbridgeYou definitely owe it to yourself to check out a Reate. A Reate made knife for $150 has got to be the cheapest knife they make. I had a Reate Wave and it was gorgeous.

Just look at the milled G10 and CF scales, they're better than the Benchmade Bone Collector. I don't have one of their knives yet but they have a well-earned reputation and they are one of the top production companies in the world, with maybe three or four actual competitors.

If this had a 3mm blade or under it would be an insta buy for me....4mm thick blades on folding knives, particularly smaller ones like this, is so unnecessary, it just adds weight, reduces cutting performance and adds expense in materials, machine time and belts.... This design really appeals to me hence my rant, it looks like it would be super comfortable in hand and I love 154cm so an upgraded variant would be welcomed. I still might get on board but I’m so over this 4mm thick blade phase we are going through that I’m going to sit back and think on it for a bit.
It's just a bit of a chunk for the blade length. If they had used thinner blade stock it would be a better slicer and a more reasonable weight for its size. It's a pass for me, but they have my attention and i'll look at their next collab.

Dude. Put it in your other pocket. Unless you've endured an amputation, what is the issue

mackhomieThe issue is I use my left hand, why would i get this knife, carry it, and have to pull it out and switch hands to be able to use it. What if i need in an emergency or cant switch hands. Dont be a dick, use your brain.
We are excited to re-launch the Drop + Eric Ochs Lynx. As requested by the community, we have provided new imagery for the Green and Slate G-10 versions, providing a more realistic idea of the scale and hardware colors.

Somewhat, it's courier dependent right now, and unfortunately our courier for knives is not yet operating. We're still in a holding pattern here.

Beautiful, thoughtful design. And after lots of people (self included) giving the site a hard time for the awkward branding on collaborations, extra points for the subtle incorporation of the new, inoffensive “D” logo via custom hardware.

sudeva...also have to say I love this slate-blue G-10. Unfortunately (also fortunately!) I already have the Ferrum Forge Gent with that same scale color.
