Support for Alternative Layouts
This is a summary of how alternative layouts have been supported by kits such as Colevrak and Homing. It is not a discussion of alt layout performance and development, but if that interests you I highly recommend starting with Pascal Getreuer’s A guide to alt keyboard layouts (why, how, which one?). It’s a concise and comprehensive overview with links to some great sites that go deeper. He also has a separate Links about keyboards page. The Keyboard layouts doc he recommends explains layout goals and metrics in detail, summarizing the alt layouts discussed here as well as more than one hundred others. As I've said before, if this had properly backlit PBT keycaps and RGB lighting I would instantly buy it. But this keyboard is slightly short on features. Not the best buy IMO and not only that but the Waitfox is back so many are jumping to the 65% keyboard layout because it is very difficult to find a board with that kind of layout. I prefer full-sized keyboards because some of us actually use the NUMPAD on our keyboards for real work. While the Waitfox is nice I'm still holding out for the YOTM 2016 Limited Edtion.
