Shipping from Taiwan at the end of July does not sound like they are "on track" for a July 24th delivery. My guess is we won't have the product until mid August. Yikes.
It doesn't bother me. You've failed again to understand what I was saying. I'm simply trying to express my belief that consumers have the right to voice their complaints if any aspect of what was advertised isn't fully met. This was in response to another user essentially justifying service that wasn't as advertised. The point of this is to say that there is always room for improvement for companies and excusing them for mistakes exempts them from making these improvements. Even if there were "complications" as you said, wouldn't it be nice if they had said something like, "Although we had initially expected a ship date of July 24th, this date has been revised to July 30th, due to unexpected circumstances" instead of "We're right on track!"???? Like I said before, Massdrop is doing well but there's always room for improvement. If Ducky isn't producing them as fast as they thought, fine, but Massdrop can take that extra step and communicate more to the consumers. I don't know how I can put it any clearer.
GreenleafyYou couldn't have it any more clear, I understood you a few pages back. I made this same point in another thread and got a bunch of negative feedback as well. MD does a really good job, I wouldn't be here purchasing and contributing if I thought otherwise. That being said I see room for improvement exactly in the areas you've mentioned.
By the way, 6 days away from our update!
f22lukeYeah it's fine and I don't really mind. It's just a pet peeve of mine when people frame their statements in contradiction to the message. All that had to be said was:
"Want to update the drop. Spoke with the manufacturer and they send their thanks and excitement. Current ship date from manufacturer is XYZ. That's placing delivery somewhat outside the original estimate but we're pumped about these amazing boards being everything you dreamed".
You don't need to use cognitive dissonance to maintain positivity while delivering less than perfect news.
kunalkumarAwesome, much thanks! Was kind of hoping the light would shine through the laser cut caps. Will be purchasing without any engraving, going to see which I like better for work (Das Model S Ultimate vs Ducky).
Will.MadeleyIf it is the same Grey/Blue keycaps set Ducky did for some time ago, I can tell you that the grey keycaps don't let the backlight/LEDs shine through. The Blue caps shows a little little light/only glows.

Great news! Ducky has just notified us that our keyboard order is finally ready for our freight shipping partner to pick up in Taiwan. The keycap production schedule ended up to be rather volatile towards the end, but we are really thankful for Ducky's decision to put extra resources on this order to minimize further delay. Once the order is on its way, we expect the shipment to arrive in our facility in New Jersey within a week.
The order will arrive in a bulk shipment and our warehouse team is ready to break it down into individual packages and send them out to you as soon as it arrives.

There is a support button at the bottom of the page. I just used that and submitted a ticket to get my address changed. If you do it early enough you might be able to get it done same day.
We spoke with Ducky earlier today, and they informed us the keyboards are all ready as of earlier this week, but we are still waiting for the keycaps production to wrap up. As soon as the keycaps are ready, they'll be able to prepare everything for shipment to us right away. As far as the keycap production schedule goes, since there's still a few moving pieces in the plan that needs to be consolidated, they weren't able to commit a hard delivery date. Though we were assured the shipment will be ready for pick up from Ducky's facility in Taiwan no later than end of next week.
Once the group’s order is ready, Ducky will send the bulk shipment to our warehouse where we’ll break it up into individual orders and ship them off to you as soon as possible.
Our warehouse is prepared to get your package shipped out the moment it arrives. Thanks for your patience and expect an update from us by the end of the day Pacific Time on 7/23.
It seems that praising the sun in the hopes of an earlier ship date did not work as intended. Perhaps the covenant needs more followers to dedicate their time to the sun for better results, hmm...
