jay.liuNot to be rude but what's the point of linking that video? The likelihood of finding a Herman MIller Embody at the price he paid is slim to none . During my search looking for a deal on a Herman Miller Embody with balance fabric the price seems to be around $1400 on the low end so it shouldn't really be a surprise that the Embody is a better chair.

DreadfulYou can get an Aeron for the same price. Aeron also happens to be a far better chair in terms of comfort, adjustability, and durability. The company I work for happen to come across DXRacer chairs as well as Aeron. The two chairs are very far apart in quality lol. If you are low on budget, the IKEA Markus is still superior to DXRacer for a lot less. Those come with 10 year warranty.

DreadfulIf you're not typing that message for the sake of being difficult, I would tell you that you do not need warranty if you buy the chair in good condition. It'll almost always outlast anything DXRacer can out on the table. As for brand new at 400 with warranty, it depends on your ability to negotiate with stores. I got some pretty amazing discounts going back and forth with an authorized dealer based in Illinois and saved 15 percent in first order and 30 percent on a repeat order.
Aeron is also not the only option, you can get Steelcase Leap and Herman Miller SAYL for a few dollars more than DXRacer and both will blow that overrated garbage away in quality.

jay.liuI'm not, I was generally curious (I should have bought the Steelcase Gesture for $500 when I had the chance during the recent Amazon deal) . I just don't like buying used chairs and like warranties since they offer me some protecting if I have any issues.

DreadfulWhen did the $500 Gesture deal happen? I just bought 2 for $1500 lol. I wouldn't mind picking up a few more for office if they hit that price again.
On an unrelated note - I don't like to buy used chair either, especially fabric ones. But from personal experience, Aerons are extremely easy to clean and maintain. You could wipe a used one down and you wouldn't be able to tell it from brand new lol.
My company had a couple brand new from Amazon last year. I sold them for $380 each locally, should've just scooped them all up for myself.

DreadfulAh Prime Day probably. I know someone that can custom order you one unit for $767 if you're interested. Brand new with warranty, adjustable lumbar and hard floor casters. There's a 3 week lead time to build the chair however. Let me know if you want contact info lol.

Adding/Including Memories

I lost my dad last year (2023) and have been finding ways to include keepsakes/memories in my workstation. I've dabbled here and there with doing small woodworking projects and attempted a wrist rest from a piece of oak I picked up with him from my great uncles wood shop. I milled it to fit a 60% keyboard as I hadn't decided what keyboard I would be using it on and thought that's where most of my wrist would be in contact even typing on a full keyboard. I gave it a torched/burn appearance as I really was lost in what to do. I found an old shell casing from going hunting with my dad in my hunting pack and decided to imbed it into the end of the wrist rest so it would just have a little difference and a small story behind it as well. I have other things around my workstation from family and friends, but it just feels a little more special having worked on it and adding something small that has a memory for me to it. (Purple was my grandmothers favorite color and I have kinda now...
