A coworker just received his keyboard. Surprised to find the switches are ALPS style switches. My brother also has this keyboard from a drop last year, and his are Cherry style. What is this madness? Additionally, there isn't the options for color themes on the Insert Home PgUp Delete End keys. This is not the right keyboard.
dhoeppSame for me. I was expecting cherry style since that's what is shown on the drop page. I contacted support about it a few days ago but haven't heard back just yet. I'm not sure how long it usually takes for a response.
PheynSame here. Got an E-element RGB on a previous drop and all was as advertised. I was a happy man. Now. this newly branded Falcon seems to have changed switches on us. The brand I can overlook because, meh, who cares. But the switches compatibility is a key feature. Contacted support, I wonder how they will handle this.
yobogoyaNothing yet. Sent them something Friday afternoon last week. First time I've had to contact them so I'm not sure if it usually takes this long to hear back.
OdedMYeah, I just contacted support as well. Seems a bit sketchy too since I've already had one double-keypress from it, although maybe I'm just being paranoid.
Weirdest part is how it's the non-Cherry stems for the keycaps . . . but Cherry stems for the spacebar stabilizers?

The spacebar also sounds very weird, a bit like a cheap woodblock being played. I have an E-Element tenkeyless I got off of Amazon a few months back and it's quite normal, the spacebar not sounding markedly different from the other keys like this one does.
dhoeppUpdating here if anyone looks at it in the future: after ~2.5 months, with not a lot of communication with massdrop, I'm still stuck with the keyboard with the wrong switches (not cherryMX-compatible). First I waited over a month. Then, I was promised a swappable switch pack (cherry compatible this time, the CORRECT one) will be sent to me so i can swap them myself and wouldn't have to return the board. Then, after a month of silence I asked whats up and was answered that somehow they FORGOT to send me the replacement key switches, and that the vendor doesn't have any left, so there's nothing to do about it now,. I was asked to just return the keyboard by mail (The representative did offer to cover the shipment costs, yeah, thanks a lot ), and get a refund.
I'm usually very understanding of customer service and am very patient with vendors and stores as i understand miskates happen. However this handling of it was just crappy all around. I was sent a wrong product, been made to wait over two months, offered no compensation, and they "forgot" to send me the "correction-pack" they were supposed to, and apparently sent to other disappointed customers. I was a bit pissed and answered that this is unacceptable after so long and they should contact the vendor to find me a better solution (get another pack of key switches, come one MassDrop!). After that last communication from me, it's been over 12 days without a response. So, I'm starting (well, continuing) to lose faith in massdrop customer service. Sorry for the rant but take this into consideration on your future dealings here, when something goes wrong, you may not have someone to talk to on the other side, and even more important - seems like this vendor just can't deliver, I suppose that's why this isn't opening again. Also, if any MD support employee read this - Send me a f#@$%ing key switch pack that's cherry-mx-compatible already, or a damn new keyboard for all I care. Rant over. Bye.
OdedMThanks for your report OdedM.
Would you be willing to tell us if any of the keyswitches between your E-element RGB and Falcon board are pin compatible. OR of the internal switch guts,or housing, is compatible?
