" The secure, leakproof top has a wide-mouth opening for easy filling, as well as a smaller opening for drinking. " There's no picture of the top opened with the large opening, and no picture of the top opened with the small opening. I want to see what will happen/how great this will be (or not) if I ever want to drink with that bottle.
Looks like a great product. Even with the shipping I'd have gotten one if wasn't for the ridiculous color choices. If there was a black or grey or any other color that didn't scream "I love 80's music". These probably perform great. But they look lame
I bought two of these a month or so ago - so far so good. I threw the tea strainer away almost instantly, filled it full of ice and water and off I went. The next day there was still ice in it. Going to work great for Gin & Tonics. I think the price was in the $18-19 range - a little high, maybe? I got an orange and a blue bottle. The orange bottle has a coating on the outside while the blue is smooth. I didn't know that, not that it matters now, but my family prefers the orange coating (and they like the strainer) - The blue one is mine.
Thanks for the link RoDilla, but libertybottles are not selling thermal stainless steel bottles. They do have very nice non-thermal ones, though.
In other news, my completely water-filled Ecovessel survived a drop down a half-flight of concrete steps! Slightly dented and a bit scratched, but good to go otherwise.
Even though it was designed in Colorado, the MADE IN CHINA sign upsets people. I think more sales might come from MADE IN USA products for future drops on bottles?
Just for fun, there is a stainless steel bottle made in the USA, non-traditional and $780 for the PSF-10 1 liter version. :-) http://www.estainless.com/bottles.cfm?product=psf I looked really hard for one too.
giddyupngoThese are specialized chemical containers. The problem with made in China is that the Chinese themselves do not want to touch it with a ten foot pole. Ask any educated Chinese their opinion about Chinese products. I stopped buying Chinese after living there for a couple of years.
$8.25 shipping on a water bottle inside the US? It's a joke or an insult. Either way, Massdrop is continuing to become less and less attractive, or competitive.
UuoriginalHaha, almost pulled the trigger at Clymb on a single pair of BN3TH underwear, $13+$8.50 shipping. $8.50 and it weighs a LOT less than two steel water bottles.
I had an opportunity to use my bottles extensively on a three day trip and they work fantastic! It keeps ice water cold and the ice keeps for well beyond 24 hours, however, the blue one that I received has the paint coming off, for some reason it's not painted the same as the orange that has sort of a Duracoat like finish that holds up much better. Other than that disappointment, I love them!
I bought a Kleen Kanteen 20oz on Amazon for ~$25 earlier this year & am well pleased with it. Have only used it with cold but temp change is minimal from am to pm and (most importantly to me) it doesn't sweat. Sometimes you get what you pay for. I appreciate your input on these
Ogen_the_MaticDon't get me wrong, the black one works pretty well. I tested it yesterday by leaving it in a hot car in the sun(in a hot country) for about 5 hours, while the outside was almost unbearable to the touch, the water stayed cold. Not as cold as they were originally, but still good. Of course this is an extreme. On another occasion, when I handed it to someone else to drink, they complained it's too cold for their teeth and that was a few hours after, while with no ice, the water were ice cold.
So all in all, not bad, but for me it doesn't keep ice beyond 3-5 hours.
I should also mention what I love about this.
The nozzle is great for me for drinking from, the wide brim is great for putting in ice easily, and the mesh does a good job of keeping leaves and fruits at bay and hasn't gotten stuck on me(as in, leaves clogging it so it's undrinkable).
