Ok, this has free shipping to the US, so I presume it's intended for the US market. But it's a 220V input, which seems like overkill for 120W in a US electrical system. Especially since it's using a NEMA 10-50 plug... are we sure it needs to pull up to 50A? I like that it has a toroidal transformer, but I don't think this is the system for me.

For $20 more get an 888 it's the standard at this price point. Difference is $18.

Answer to your question is, hands down, a resounding 'yes' Coincidentally, those are the exact same reasons I was/am looking for an iron when I started my search. I would seriously advise you to download the manuals for the 888 from both the hakko worldwide AND the US website as there is information missing in one that is present in the other and vice versa. Read them both and understand how the button controls work so when you get it, you don't accidentally re-calibrate it when all you wanted to do was change the temperature and it also tells you how to enable the presets function, etc. The above is highly recommended to the point of being almost mandatory.
