it's a nice watch, solid myota innards, ie a 'honda motor' of watches :-]. If you like the look and will wear it a lot and enjoy it, that's what matters. You certainly are not being ripped off.
i passed given that 'vintage' inspired to me should include consideration of total dimensions and not just proportion relative to style. if a watch is going to be vintage or vintage like, i go for <40mm, cases, this is too big for me for this style watch. 40 works well a lot of the time but i think makes more sense with more modern design. but if you like it, and will enjoy it, seems like a good value. I would search the bay and amazon etc to see if a minty used one could be had for 35-40%+ below the 'new' drop price, but that's just me, i pretty much don't buy unless i am stealing it, both pre-owned or when the rare opportunity is there, new (hence when i sell i usually sell for 80-120% of what I paid for it regardless if i sell it under market value as my last few sold watches all sold same day for about what i paid for them or more). at that price if i was in the market for it, i'd probably pass but i'm a cheapskate on the 'buy' side of the equation and i'm never in a hurry so usually the deal you want *(or one you are not looking for) will present it self

Danbo_de_PianoI have had no good experience with Minolta movement. I had two Zeppelins. They rattle, sound loose, and feel cheap.
I would prefer a bottom of the barrel Seiko 5 at fraction of the price.
