This is about the cheapest you'll find this game online right now. Wonderin why there's not more people interested. People unsure of a new game ya think?
JayWalkerIt's that the drop isn't valuable. There is no incentive to join the drop because you'll be paying about the same amount of money as other websites while waiting weeks to months to see your purchase.
So, while the price isn't great, it's good to see that whoever is in charge of the board game drops is at least doing their homework on what games to offer. Elysium is up for the German game of the year award (Spiel des Jahres) in their strategy games category and for good reason. It's a solid game with some interest mechanics that make for difficult decisions.
So, whoever is in charge of the board game drops, keep it up (even if it's just looking at "the hotness" list on BGG) -- but in terms of pricing you're still at least 10% off of being competitive with some of the online stores that I can order from today and have in my hands in less than a week. You guys need to figure out a way to offer considerably better pricing on the base product, drastically reduce shipping cost, or improve logistics to get products into buyer's hands more quickly if not two or all three of the above.
TemigYou're absolutely correct, Massdrop has been doing a good job with their board games lately, even if their deals haven't been as great as CSI or Amazon.
One of the interesting things I've noticed is that most of the pricing issues comes from shipping costs. If there was a way to hold and combine dropped purchases for a savings on shipping, that could help lower the prices a bit.
Now that Miniature Market charges $5.95 for flat rate shipping, you can get Elysium there for $47.34 (or $41.39 with a $99 purchase for free shipping).
At the lowest price here, this game will cost $45.04.
