Makes more sense to me to use a backpack with the solar panel built in, like www.eclipsesolargear.com. That's what I use- I have a battery pack (10,000mAH) connected to the panel, and the panel keeps the battery charged. When I need it to recharge a phone, the battery pack does it at a normal charge rate for the phone. And since it's a backpack, I don't have to carry anything additional, and I don't have to deploy a panel to use it.

bigguybbqBut you would be stuck using only that backpack to maintain functionality. Solar panels like this are suitable in a lot of other places, including those who already own decent packs.
