Product Description
Spanish for wasp, the Avispa from ESEE is swift and packs a sting. With a 5-inch handle and a 3.5-inch blade made from D2 tool steel, it’s plenty big enough for tough cutting tasks Read More

I would get a RAT 1 in D2 over this. The RAT has better construction and isn’t as slippery in the hand. The action is also way smoother.

They should never have tried to do a framelock. The problem with this framelock is that they didn't chamfer the lockbar at all, so it just kinda digs directly into your thumb. Oh and the tension on that lockbar is way, way too hard.

MaxwellDemonicYeah, I just bought a Zancudo for my wife and I think I'm going to return it because its too dangerous to close for her.

bookworm13I was able to bend the lockbar out a bit with a prybar which helps, but it still causes a bit of pain to use.

I hope this model is easier to open and close than the Zancudo I just bought in the previous drop. It is terribly difficult to operate and the detent makes it impossible to open one handed. The non-chamfered lock bar doesn’t help as it kills the thumb to operate.

banjovialIt is not. I gave my girlfriend one and regret it. It was very gritty, and only on Teflon washers. It is very hard to open and is slippery in the hard. The lock bar sticks horribly. ESEE makes great fixed blades, but not folders.

I have this in the tan version. I love this knife. The flip tension is still a little stiffer than I prefer but it’s become my daily carry. The grip has a cool very comfy texture. I think the price this time is higher than what I paid.

The AUS-8 version might be, but not the D2 version like this drop is. The D2 version is around $44 on amazon

ESEE makes damn good blades. I used to have one just like this that is now discontinued by them, good stuff.

Man that fucker came to me sharp though from Amazon...easily cuts through cardboard envelopes from USPS with next to zero effort in my wrist at all. One of the sharpest knives I've ever had that just came that sharp.

m0arpheusIt's one of my only knives I haven't put through my sharpening ritual. It's just that sharp out of the box from blade hq.

4.5 oz seems heavy, I like a nice lightweight knife for everyday use.
