40 weeks later, I still use this pouch daily. I put the watch I want to wear in the pouch then it goes into my dopp kit in my gym bag for the next morning. When I travel, I usually wear one watch and have a second in my luggage, in this pouch. it takes up WAY less space than a Wolf watch roll (or similar) and gives it plenty of protection. It has developed a really cool dark patina around the edges that I wasn't expecting. The stitching has help up great so far. Totally worth it for a compact way to carry a watch around. I'll upload a current picture later if I think of it.

Watch pouches ready to be cut; a still from a video showing the Italian tannery's stamp on the back of the hide. From their Facebook page.

Eternal Leather is a one-man Hong Kong operation, Colin Hui; He doesn't try to conceal that. Massdrop is to blame for not stating that in the product description, if the omission of that fact is considered suspicious.

He uses branded leather from known Italian, American, and Japanese tanneries, and the assembly looks very good in photos.
And he does watch straps: It would be nice to get a drop of some of his straps, which look very well assembled compared to ... well, I won't go there. If you want Made in America for patriotic reasons, more power to you. If you think it means better quality, well, that's case by case.

Just a heads up for future buyers - My package is being shipped from Hong Kong. Kind of cheapens the product, and ruins the credibility of the product description:
"Made from vegetable-tanned Minerva box leather from the Badalassi Carlo Tannery in Italy, this watch pouch is a great place to store a precious timepiece. ...As each piece is sewn and crafted by hand, no two are exactly alike. "
I'll report on the quality of the watch pouch when I receive it.

xalsxThis product is made in Hong Kong by Colin Hui, the sole craftsman at Eternal Leather, because Colin lives in Hong Kong. Check out his Facebook, instagram, and Etsy pages.
Colin's Eternal Leather imports leather from Italy, Japan, and the U.S. for the same reason that U.S. makers import from Italy and Japan, and European makers import leather from the U.S. You get it from where it's made, and there are only so many quality tanneries in the world, but none of any note in Hong Kong. If you want a variety of offerings, you get your hides from multiple sources.
Here are some photos from the previous drop. 😊

Definitely assembled in and shipped from Asia, but it seems to be pretty good quality. Time will tell if it will stand up to the daily abuse of my gym bag. (See what I did there?)
the caseback protector is nothing more ore than a small swatch of the same leather. not Sure what I expected, maybe something to stiffen the shape?

xalsxI think the insert is, as you say, to protect the caseback from scratches from the bracelet. I'm not sure if the pouch is long enough to accommodate a leather strap watch, but if it does, you could probably ditch the protector in that case.

CloacaYeah, I don’t use it for my pieces with leather. Only bracelets. I just expected something a little more interesting than a plain old swath of leather.

Thats what I use the case my watch came in for , have put them in hardshell sunglass case . For travel I go light and simple a watch that will dress up or down gold and silver victorinox.

Sweetearth1161I usually travel with at least two watches when I'm traveling (possibly two analog, a Casio, and maybe even my smart watch). Most of my watches came in boxes/cases much larger than this, so can't really use those. The hard case sunglass cases I have are also much larger than a watch and you can probably fit two or three watches in them, so they are similarly unfit to travel with. Don't get me wrong this definitely is a luxury item and you can probably re-purpose something else for it, but it's something nice to have.
I usually travel with my extra watches in a "watch taco" though listed as a single watch case in the below link. Far more utilitarian and probably more durable:

I can understand the need for wanting something nicer though.

what's the need for a pouch for the watch?
rumata13So you could switch between another watch when you're travelling, or to store watches that you don't wear often in a drawer? Perhaps storing it in a pouch before tossing it in your gym bag when you're at the gym?

I bought one of these from drop about two years ago and have used it daily ever since. the stitching has held up fine and has suffered no tears in it at all. The insert is nothing more then a little flap of matching leather. I’m not sure it’s even necessary since there is no room for it to move around in there no matter how small the watch is. I grabbed a couple quick pictures this evening as I prepared my logistics for tomorrow. (Subtle brag post)
