Where's the price?

I have to echo the comments of others below, the pricing for this drop is not competitive at all.
For example, Cult pens current price on the Pearwood Ambition is about $65, compared to $145 in this drop!
Their other prices: Black Resin is $43 compared to $60 here, Black Sand is $49 vs $60, Black Rhombus is $59 vs $90, Steel is $67 vs $145 and finally Coconut is $96 vs $160.
All above prices are ex. VAT and so will be higher if you're inside the UK/EU.
Faber-Castell nib/feed units are great (a little wet, so order a size under your usual) but the ergonomics of this pen are not great. The pen is quite slim and not that comfortable for longer writing sessions (no curve in the barrel to relieve pressure) and your fingers will get inky unscrewing the "teensy" little "section" from the body. Also, the cap has a mushy plastic (nylon?) liner which does securely fastens to post, but with a "thud" more than a "click." Not as crisp to post, or as comfy to hold, as the Loom.
If you like this style of pen, I would check out the Lamy Accent. Similar shape/design, but with a more secure cap and a nice bulging grip area. The same teensy section, but it is removed through a neat "elevator" feature by turning the grip.
Buy these from Amazon.de (Germany) instead. So much cheaper, especially factoring I the 19% VAT discount on deliveries outside the EU.

Yeah you're completely right! A search for "Faber-Castell AMBITION" turns up all kinds of deals.
Ordered and received Opart Black Sand version. No converter included (the drop stated that this would be included for all pens other than Black). Support contacted and awaiting resolution.

Given option for full return vs partial refund. Appreciate the service and response from Massdrop, and hope this is clarified in future drops.
Nice pen, but it's less expensive on Amazon for the Pearwood, Coconut wood, Rhombus editions and $2 more for the standard edition.
MD check your pricing for option for pearwood. MSRP is $120. You are charging more.
The Ambitions are very nice and under-appreciated pens, but $145 + shipping is hardly much of a bargain for the stainless steel version.
Fantastic pen and fantastic price. I have one in pearwood and it is just beautiful. @F00lw0lf - the flow is heavy for the nib size yes. But if you like a wet writer then this is the one. ūü§ó Edit: Well the price is not so fantastic after all. You can get it for cheaper elsewhere.

Penboutique has offer in store most of the times. online I think they give u a 5% I think. I got my Pearwood at Levenger store for $80!
Anyone else getting this pen noticed that the flow is rather heavy? I got the EF nib, and it behaves like a fine and having a rather heavy flow. This leads to thicker lines and sometimes blotches. Compared with other EF nib pencils I have, this one is the worst. :(

Been in contact with the Massdrop guys, and they will fix things :)
Sadly, I have noticed that after buying this that most places have this pen for far cheaper, like everywhere. Lesson learned however and the order button doesn't seem quite to appealing no more.
Unless you are getting the black resin, you'll get better deals elsewhere. They add up to $40 in the option section
Do you know if they can get an extra-fine nib on the Black Resin pen?

Yep. And MD tells the good people of Faber that there's nothing they can do about it legally. So when MD says they're "submitting an order through the vendor," it's more than likely bs for most of the brands MD "carries"

maybe the vendor is amazon? :p

I think I got every single FC pen so far that MD had to offer. Wasn't quite happy with the nib of the E-Motion, but eventually I fixed the flow.
This one is a very elegant, slender pen and turned out to be an excellent writer. The grip isn't the best ... since there is no section to speak of, I need to hold the barrel itself, as close to the [nonexistent] section as possible. That however makes the pen barely able to rest on the webbing between my thumb and forefinger (and I don't like posting pens). So I would say it's better suited for smaller hands.
I got the pearwood finish ... it's really, really nice. Worth the extra $$$ for that natural touch.
In the last drop they offered a converter ... I went for it and turned out that the pen already had one installed. Which was just as fine, because I needed one for the Basic (which they did *not* offer with a converter back when).
here is a recent positive review to offset the review below https://www.penaddict.com/blog/2016/12/19/faber-castell-ambition-fountain-pen-review
FC pens are among the best for fit-and-finish quality. Even though steel and not flexiblke, the nibs are very smooth and adjusted on the wet side. I have both a simple black resin model and the coconut wood model. Wonderful pens. Of course, the Graf von Faber-Castell pens are defintely a step up in terms of elegance and class, but at $55, this is a great deal. The price is so good, I just may get another one :)
I've got an Ambition in Pearwood and I really like it, actually it's one of my favorite steel nib pens. I've got a fine nib and in my experience it is a rather wet writer. I have an FC converter and it fits well. One complaint is that the nib section unscrews from the barrel very easily, and a lot of times with the cap on it will spin loose so when I go to pull the cap off, the whole section pulls out from the barrel.
I want to get a Faber-Castell, but a review from a past drop on here and this review https://www.penaddict.com/blog/2016/4/7/faber-castell-ambition-blue-ocean-opart-fountain-pen-a-review
make me think this isn't the one to start with.

I got one from a previous drop. While it is an elegant finely-made pen, I ended-up selling it. The thing is when I think Faber-Castell I think Graf. That's what I really wanted, and my ambition with the Ambition (aptly-named in this context) was to scratch the Faber-Castel itch. It didn't work. It did not make me want the this limited edition snakewood any less

That is a pretty barrel
I bought this pen with the last MassDrop and I really don't like it at all. It has a ridge in the middle of the area where my fingers rest and the ridge is sharp and basically hurts. Below the ridge it's too small to grip. Above the ridge feels too far from the nib for a comfortable balance. So I try to grip over the ridge but it's impossible; the ridge is too large.
I have fairly small and sensitive hands, so you may want to consider this if you have sensitive or small hands. I will probably never use this pen. I may try to sell it on ebay. It's really uncomfortable and has made me re-think purchasing pens I haven't tried at all from a non-returnable source like MassDrop.
The converter is super tight fit. Mine actually got stuck, any tips on getting it out?
Rampagecrew
faber castell sell their own converters, standard intl ones are too wide, as you found out. this is almost a year late so hopefully you fixed it already, but pliers should help.
Judging by the comments, the converters not fitting is a known issue, however I myself have been shipped a converter that does not fit. It's the Schneider one. Please remedy this as this is unacceptable.

Could someone from MD seriously answer why I can't have Matte Sand in Fine instead of keeping silent?
Could MD add Fine nib option for Matte Sand? I mean it does not make sense for some to come with Fine/ Extra Fine and some don't. The barrel is a separate part.
How much does the steel body weigh?
Why is Extra Fine only available for Pearwood? And it is really confusing to say "Converter (Black Resin excluded)". I chose Sand Resin but still have the option to add a converter. Does it mean my Sand Resin will come with one or none?
bought a FC loom Fine nib before. Too scratchy and dry to my taste. would have bought medium instead
EDIT: now i love my Fine nib:D
