Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

How will this DAC AMP work since my setup is passive speakers driven by Yamaha receiver that are connected to the PC sound card, asking this because this Dac Amp is with USB connection, is this Dac Amp suitable more for laptops, tablets etc? not sure how will it work via USB since the sound card don't have USB connection slot, or you just plug it in the mobo usb slot and drags the sound trough there which I doubnt a little bit that's the way it can go, any answers?
And about your speakers, if you want it as a DAC for them too then you can have it before your receiver in your chain. Assuming that the DAC in the FiiO do better than the one in your Yamaha receiver, wich I don't think. Then just keep everything as you have and only use the FiiO for your headphones or if you really want to be able to control the volume for both your speakers and your headphones from the FiiO then use the line out. (keep the receiver as an amp for the speakers, or compare them also for the amp... But I believe a receiver/amp made for speakers will do better than the FiiO)
As far as listening on headphones I never liked them, I cant stand my ears being trapped, hot and sweaty.... I have no problem listening loud either cause I live alone and for gaming I just use the standalone microphone and works awesome and don't interfere with the speaker sound.... The only reason I was looking at the DAC is not for headphones but for clearer sound from the speakers, honestly I don't think it will get any more clearer than it is now. Thanks for the reply dude, much appreciated :)
Personally I prefer headphones, for immersion mostly (with music and games) but also because I would need to put the same amount if not more money than for my DT-990 for the same precision and pleasure...). But that being said, I plan on buying a pair of "studio" speakers for a simple reason : being able to listen to music in my room while I do some other stuff and with a better quality than the crappy speakers that are on my (GREAT) AOC 32" monitor :/
