What on earth is the point of having the adapter from 3.5mm TRS to quad balanced plug? Especially when there's already a 3.5mm input on the amp! How could there possibly be a difference between the two inputs when coming from an unbalanced source?!

upinthecloudsMaybe there is no internal provisions to balance the signal from the 3.5mm input, just a guest. unbalanced sources are pretty much the norm, being balanced from the amp to your hears is what matters really.

upinthecloudsOr in other words, splitting the signal that way would have exactly the same purpose of a stereo 3.5 to 2 RCA plugs adapter. this splitting would have to be done before balancing the signal anyway, maybe they tought that doing that externally with a shielded cable would make it less prone to picking up interference than doing it with tiny pcb traces close to other electronic parts. That's actually a smart design choice, because any noise you pick up before going balanced will get amplified, there is no way to reject them. Obviously tough there is no way this input receive a balanced signal trough this adapter, just to be clear. It would also be a good question to ask the makers, if the ''single ended" input could give you also a balanced output.
