I received my poles a couple of months ago during a previous Drop and I wanted to provide some info on the tips..., specifically the rubber tips. The ones that came with the poles are really anemic. After I inserted a washer in them per someone's suggestion, that appeared to provide a substantial foundation for the pole tips to be supported by the washer. However, the rubber tips that came with the poles are very thin on the "soles" of the tips, resulting with rapid wear. As someone suggested, I ordered "Trekking Pole Classic Tip Protectors", by Black Diamond from Amazon ($4.95 per pair). Per the picture, the tip on the left is the original and tip on the right is the Black Diamond tip..., a substantial difference. The replacement tip is far superior over what came with what otherwise are excellent trekking poles. The fitment for the Black Diamond tips is as good if not better than the original. I made sure that the ends of the pole were cleaned with denatured alcohol before the new ones were installed. There is no movement or mushy feel at all. A very solid fit. Happy trekking!!
