This simple, lightweight jacket from Fjällräven is designed for low-impact adventures, from daytime hikes in the mountains to nighttime strolls in the city. The body is made from MT, or Micro Travel, while the hood, sleeves, and lower hem are made from G-1000 Lite, both of which are patented Fjällräven fabrics. Together, the two materials produce a jacket that’s easy to pack, quick to dry, and tough to damage.
Note: At checkout, you’ll have your choice of four different colors and six different sizes (XS to XXL).
Equipped with a two-way zipper, the Abisko Hybrid jacket features a fixed hood that can be adjusted around the face. On the sides are two hand pockets, while at the bottom of the jacket is a drawcord for adjustment of the lower hem. The sleeve cuffs are fitted with an elastic band, and the sleeves themselves offer ventilation holes beneath the arms. Fitted with a mesh lining, the yoke also provides ventilation.
Founded in 1960, Fjällräven was inspired by a young man’s treks in the mountains near the small town of Örnsköldsvik. Dissatisfied with the gear available at the time, 14-year-old Åke Nordin began making framed backpacks in his basement using his mother’s sewing machine, and later expanded to tents. Today, the company applies Åke’s commitment to functionality, durability, and dependability to a range of products. “Fjällräven” is Swedish for “Arctic fox.”
