Beautiful case. I really wanted to get in on this drop, but sadly I just found out that it's actually 38 units _total_ - only 19 units of each the rifle and shotgun cases! I thought I had time, dang!

For this price I would have liked to see sleeves for a tubeset on the shotgun case. This would be a great bag for moving back and forth on a busy range or hunting event, that way you can unload and make safe, keep it safe from bumps and scratches, and free up your hands. I use a "light" Americase for my competition skeet gun and the while it's ultra protective it's heavy as a dying star. Cotton liner isn't a deal-breaker, breathability is good to have on a humid or rainy day before gear can be cleaned.

I don’t hunt or own guns. Just took a peek in the comment section out of curiosity. I wish I didn’t. “A gun is not a weapon!” Riiiight. As a Canadian I find Americans sexual attraction to firearms hilarious and disturbing.

gnarledcouleeAs an American, I can't say I've ever been sexually attracted to firearms. But knowing I have a way to defend myself if attacked /does/ give me a warm and fuzzy feeling down below ;)

I think with a cotton liner your gun will rust and way too much money for what you get.

okifatboyCotton isn't too bad. It will breathe, the super waterproof gear can seal moisture in with the gun. If rust is a big issue with you store it with a healthy coating of Rustpruf, Barricade, or Rem-Oil or use a Goldenrod in a good safe.

You have got to be kidding me with this? LOL
Um...people...a firearm IS classified as a weapon. To think it's not is semantics and ridiculous. I too have worked in the firearm industry and to use a KNIFE as your example is also inane. Any knife can be designated a weapon or a tool...but that is NOT the same as a firearm throwing projectiles at over 1K'/second. I'm a hunter, bowhunter, and firearm collector...and have only heard these kind of statements exhibited here when holding hunter safety classes in which hipsters/millennials were attending. Absolute nonsense.

anyone have details on how tall of a rifle would fit in the case in inches? I.e. height not length. Worried about the optic fitting.

"Weapon," you keep using that word. I don't think it means what you think it means. Find/hire someone at Massdrop that knows firearms to write the description. Please.

physical damage doesn't just pertain to damage done to a person or animal, it literally means damage done to a physical object. so yes, that includes targets. all firearms are weapons, as they have been designed to create physical damage, regardless of the intended target of that damage.

curious if these are "tall" enough for something with a pistol grip, like the ever-popular AR-15.
But yes, good to see MD expanding their horizons!

Ka.avikThe shotgun case is 2" too short to hold a Mosin Nagant rifle. :-/

Looks beautiful. Would love to see more drops like this for firearms related items, maybe we could even get a hunting & shooting community started? Anyone from massdrop please respond.

superkuperAren't they based out of San Francisco? I'm pretty sure just offering this item has given 75%+ of the employees PTSD.

NeWaVdubsI dunno. Given how hipster and non-protective the design is, with its soft walls and delicate leather straps up top, it probably lessens the emotional impact. They probably told them they're just REALLY big messenger bags. You know, for posters and stuff.
