I ended up having to use rubbing alcohol wipes to remove the grease or whatever was left over on the cups. It smoothed everything out. After I had to polish the cups with a furniture cleaning lotion and microfiber. I got paranoid about what everyone said and had to do something about the residue. It's glossy now and the coating is even. Might be a quick fix for a few.
Just an FYI though. Rubbing alcohol will eat through the finish and wood, so it has to be removed or neutralized quickly with an oil/polish.

KTMDWill any generic furniture cleaning lotion work? Perhaps link whatever you were using? I'll give this a shot if my pair ends up having the bubblewrap issue.

PankaicI believe so. I've been trying to fix the issues with mine. If you look for problems, it's there with the finish. If you don't look for problems, you'll get lucky in decent light. Coconut oil also works wonders. I think an old, clean shirt is soft enough and just a little bit of rubbing alcohol before the polish cleans up the poor lacquer job.

PankaicYeah it should. That's so expensive though. You don't have anything on hand at home? Even coconut oil works

KTMDYeah, don't think I do... I can look around, but I'll probably need to buy something off amazon. Maybe not that one though. There are a couple cheaper ones.

PankaicDon't you have any corner shop near you? Never occurred I could order cleaning products more easily from Amazon - the postage thing is really the most annoying part ordering online and if I can get the same product with equal price I always buy it from a local shop. At least make sure they don't ship it with DHL.

NrdeAh, I'm just too lazy to go to a store. There are a couple nearby that'll probably have furniture cleaner/polish. If not, Home Depot definitely will.
