Sennheiser PC37X randomly goes bad after disconnecting the cable ?
Greetings, Yesterday I was using my headset like normal with my macbook, just listening to music and on a call with people like usual, and the headset was perfectly fine. The stock wire that came with the headset is extremely long and yesterday it annoyed me very much that it kept getting tangled with itself, so I decided to see if the cable is replaceable. I pulled out the cable from the headset and saw the adapter, and looked online for a replacement. Upon plugging it back in, the audio sounded extremely muffled and washed out. Im not sure what I did wrong to make it mess up like that as I've always taken good care of it, ive had it for about 2 years and its always just been chilling on my desk, but anywho I thought the cable just went bad and ordered a replacement. The replacement came, and the issue is still persistant, so I am not sure what the issue is I've tried multiple different headsets and the issue is not with the port, and I also tried it with my windows laptop and...

Just a quick check in on the 'pack mark' situation and what we're working on. Nothing is set in stone right now, but wanted to keep everyone in the loop.
We've been talking with Fostex a lot about what method would be the most ideal for everyone with blemished earcups. Right now we have a best bet solution that would require (what we think) is the lowest amount of effort for someone who has the bubblewrap marks on their earcups.
Fostex knows the exact composition of the lacquer and has had their engineers working on a very simple polishing kit that according to them fixes the issue perfectly and requires almost no effort. If this is the case then we can send all those affected this little kit and it would be a Fostex approved method for polishing up your earcups.
We're having a couple of these sent to our office in SF to see how simple and effective this kit is before we decide anything, but it seems like a hopeful resolution that doesn't require anyone to ship something back or disassemble their headphones.
Our plan currently is that we'll receive the kits and test their effectiveness. If they are a foolproof method and the results are perfect, then we'll send out the kits to all those affected so they can try it. If you are unsatisfied with the results then you'll still reserve the option to a return for a full refund.
We’re still working with Fostex and everyone here about further details, but I wanted to give you all an update before the weekend.
Have a good weekend everyone and I’ll keep you posted as I get more details.
The lacquer on these is awfully thin too. Nothing compared to the th900. Would it take polishing well?
