Bought used, had some issues with it so I had some back and forth with the seller and its resolved now. Wanted to wait to post this because of it, but here it is.

Alright, nice packaging.

For me, it came in its carry bag, which is very nice by the way. It feels like stretchy pleather, most definitely not real.

Set up on the stand with its NON-detachable cable

It's 2017, I mean come on. To add insult to injury its 1/4th so you'll need a 1/8th adapter to make it even longer.

love the wood caps.

Angled pleather pads, not memory foam, but still very comfortable. People with larger ears might notice it resting on your lower ear though.
search
Good construction, Arch the cups articulate on are metal but they are attached to the frame with plastic connectors.

Non-detachable cables are all well and good HOWEVER detachable is the superior option.

Re-terminated to 2.5mm jacks. I still need to get some plugs and heatshrink for the cable and finish it off.

Headband is wrapped in the same kind of pleather as the carry bag with an adequate amount of padding. For me is the lightness of its clamp with how heavy it is. Leaning back in your chair with your head back and the headphone will slide off no problem. I've only really used these headphones a few hours a session so I'm not sure if its weight will become a issue for long listening periods for example a 8 hour shift or something but it is something to consider. If you're looking for a truly sealed closed back headphone I would look elsewere. I would more say these are semi-closed/open as leak is noticeable. Will it annoy a co-cower in a cube next to you in the office, probably not but the person next to you on the bus would be. Sound wise its pretty U shaped. Bass and treble are predominant and front and center but not muddy or shrill. Soundstage is pretty narrow you can tell there was an attempt to close these off. If you want to listen to the kick drum, bassline along with the cymbals these are the ones for you but alot of the detail in the midrange gets drowned out. For $399.99 I just cant see these however. Lots of mods and parts out there but too expensive to be a true project headphone imo. 'Closed' but not actually closed, not totally open either. Sounds very good but its still V shaped. Somethings you have to live with that will make it so you cant just forget about them and listen.

FuhriousHi there! Like you I just received mine as well and was shocked that I'm stuck With a 20' cord!! Non the less an adapter that barely stays on, the head phone plug literally falls out of the adapter and never has a complete contact so I can only hear one ear / can at a time. I'm not very happy paying 400$ for cans I have to mod / then loose warranty too. I paid the same $ for my B&O H7 and I feel overly satisfied with those especially with their app. I'm kinda new here so be kind please. Lol. Im really leaning on returning them and going with the NADs or oppos H3, which is what I wanted in the first place. I'm a mobile listener so, if I do keep them can u please elaborate on how you did the mod to 3.5 m so I dont trash mine. Is there a way to private msg? So I can give you my email or #?Wonder where I could take them to get it done? Anyway, thanks for listening and any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated!!

FuhriousHow did you mod these? I like them, but I agree the cable is too long/bulky for what my application is (at work through a tube amp, looking for a nice 200ish DAC if you have any recommendations).
Do you think someone with relatively rudimentary soldering / maker skills could handle?

FuhriousI purchased mine from MD on the second drop and sold them shortly after for the very drawbacks you mentioned. All too often, reviews miss the fact that these are incredibly V-shaped sonically. The bass is quite good (still not LCD2 good) but the recessed mids just sucks the life out of a good number of genres. Female vocals are especially affected. I didn't get any sensation of them feeling "more open than other closed phones" either. I wanted to like them but just couldn't at the $400. For a good chunk less money, I'd be happier with Sennheiser Momentum over-ears. I would go so far as to say that the TH-X00 is handily outclassed by the HD600 with a good amp.

ChesshyreYeah it was pretty easy. I'd even say some could do this as their first solder project. just take the pads off, unscrew the 8 screws(4 holding the driver to the frame and 4 holding the wood cups to the driver), unsolder the stock wires and untie and remove cable, cut the plastic housing to accommodate the jack(your choice 2.5mm or 1/8th both are the same outer dimension) wire it all up, chip the wood cups where the jack is so it will sit flush, screw it all up and volia you're finished. I'm sure there more detailed guides out there on just a simple google search if you get stuck. Here's some pics I took.(backwards order because that's how MD does multi pic uploads)

FuhriousI figured out one small thing with the ear pad rings after doing this mod. They will not fully lock into their slot due to the new jack in on the bottom side. So what I did was I took my wire cutters and snipped the bottom tab on the ear pad rings and now the pads will not fall off if I move my headphones around.
