Kevin Thiemann’s interest in fountain pens began with a desire to improve his penmanship. He bought his first fountain pen in 2009 and fell in love instantly, and though he wanted to get more, he was discouraged by the high prices. This led him on a search for high-quality, low-cost pens. He was working in India at the time and soon discovered the world of Indian-made fountain pens. Along with buying these for himself, he started to sell them to other collectors and enthusiasts—and Fountain Pen Revolution was born. Eventually, Thiemann partnered with Indian pen manufacturers to construct pens and nibs to his own specifications. FPR is family owned and operated, and every pen is cleaned, inspected, and carefully maintained around Thiemann’s own kitchen table. The company’s goal: to spread the joy of fountain pens to a new generation of writers.
