Really like these pens, love that you do not have to open the pen to fill it. They look really nice and I like being able to see the ink level. Very nice drop

***update*** After several cleaning/soaking/reinking cycles, the smell is almost gone from both pens. I heat set both of the feeds, which fixed the leaking. Now that they're significantly more pleasant to work with, I actually really like them for the price. Just had to stick it out and keep trying. ===== The stench! So incredibly smelly. Also both pens are extremely leaky and wasted a lot of fancy ink that I should have saved for a more reliable pen. Never had either of these problems with another pen before.

T-whaleHi T-whale, a soak in a very mild bleach water solution will clear up the smell. The smell is a natural property of the resin used but wears off over time. Also, our ebonite feeds are designed to be very wet in order to lay down a nice line and keep up with flex writing, but as a result they don't make the best "carry around" pens as bumping them around can result in some extra ink in the cap. I hope this helps! Kevin Fountain Pen Revolution

They leak. They look really cheap. Not a fan at all. It'll be a while before I'm buying into another one of these Massdrop deals. Feel more than a little burned here.

I love the design and they are the cheapest piston fillers I have ever seen. They are typical cheap pens that leak and the ink evaporates out of them very quickly. They wrote well at the beginning but got worse with time. The stench is horrible. At first I thought it was the ink, but when I used my own ink it still smells just as bad. They are as good as it gets for the price if you can get over the smell.

Sorry, but they leak. And the two nibs write in markedly different widths, despite being the same. I would not buy again, nor would I recommend to anyone but a committed FP aficionado.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase. $20 for two pens and a bottle of ink is great. These are the first piston-filling pens that I have owned and I'm still not sold on it but overall I think they are reasonable for the price. I would echo the sentiments about the smell and the leaking. They smell funky and I haven't used them in a couple of weeks due to that but, after reading the seller's replies, maybe that will have faded now. The plastic does have a cheaper feel to it, but that is to be expected as they offered two pens that write well for $20. After filling, my fingers were heavily coloured. I have also found that one of my two pens colours my fingers every time I write with it. I don't have the same problem with the other one. That may be due to my management of the filling but I would like to figure out a way around that. Overall, the idea of having an ink bottle to refill as opposed to the disposable cartridges is a nice one. I'm happy with this purchase and it has definitely made me want to continue using fountain pens.

The pens write fine, but the quality of the plastic is really poor, there is an smell that makes me keep these pens away. Any Jinhao or Wing Sung have better quality and appearance.

They leak copiously all the time. Lousy product
hyuliHi, Are they leaking when carried or when kept on a desk? These pens have very wet ebonite feeds and are piston filled. Thus, when pocket carried or bumped around a lot they are likely to expel ink into the cap. This is true of just about any piston filled pens with ebonite feeds. Kevin Fountain Pen Revolution
