At 38 millimeters, the Persuasion from Frédérique Constant is on the smaller side of watches. However, look closely and it’s got some seriously big style to offer. Fitted with Frederique Constant’s own FC-303 movement, it’s both accurate and precise. Flip the watch over to see the movement’s 26 jewels on bold display. The Persuasion’s ovular inner dial is textured with shapes, resembling a game of tetris. The Roman numerals on the right and left side are slightly warped to fit within the constructs of the case, like an optical illusion of sorts—though the watch doesn’t lack in legibility. Made with a polished stainless steel case and sapphire crystal, it’s water resistant to 60 meters, so you won’t have to worry about spilling your Sazerac on it at the bar.
Note: This drop is limited to 42 units.
The Frédérique Constant names comes from the two great grandparents of each of its founders: Frédérique Schreiner and Constant Stas—the latter of which began printing watch dials in 1904. Independent and family owned, this Geneva, Switzerland–based company puts a high emphasis on design, continually evolving to offer the most innovative technical features in its timepieces. Founded in 1988, it’s been exhibiting at the World Watch, Clock, and Jewelry Show since 1995. Each of its watches is assembled by hand, and undergoes a rigorous set of quality control checks before being finished.
